Otonglo Boy’s Plight: His Mother In Detention And Ksh18,000 Fees Arrears! Was President Uhuru Doing PR With His Rib Cracker

He first came into the limelight when he went down the books of history as the small school boy who left president Uhuru Kenyatta in stitches with one of the finest performances in music and drama festivals in State House Mombasa.

Daniel Owira, the Otonglo Boy, became the President’s darling and he went on to be adopted by the first family and President Uhuru promised to fund his education to University level.

But alas! Owira has more problems than yours despite being the president’s adopted son.

Ghafla! Kenya reported in May that the rib cracker’s mother was among the victims of the accident that occurred in South B when a perimeter wall fell killing 10 people following a heavy down pour.

And after being rushed to hospital where she has been receiving treatment, the mum is in detention for failing to raise the hospital bills.

The Nairobian says that the hospital bill stands at 120k after the community managed to raise another 120k to offset it.

The mother narrates how her life has been horrible since then because she is the only bread winner for her family and has a disabled child who entirely depends on her.

Even more breaking news came when she received a call from Owira’s school telling her to clear 18k fee arrear.

The biggest question here is: was President Uhuru doing PR with the Otonglo Boy? Why did he promise to fund his education publicly but failed to do so?
