“People will fill up at Jaguar’s rallies just to hear him sing but come election morning mtaona kijivumbi nyinyi!” City socialite warns Jaguar after he announced bid to vie

Jaguar has officially joined the race for Starehe parliamentary seat; he’s contesting against incumbent Maina Kamanda, Boniface Mwangi and Steve Mbogo.

Jaguar sparked speculation that he was warming up to join politics when he recently resigned from his job at the drug-fighting agency – Nacada.

President Uhuru Kenyatta blocked Jaguar’s resignation from Nacada in 2015 when the singer threatened to leave. Jaguar, a close ally of Uhuru, is perceived to have the president’s ‘blessings’ for his bid in Starehe constituency.

But some critics still believe Jaguar will suffer the fate of KJ, Ringtone, Mdomo Baggy and other celebrities who lost when they ran for elective positions.

City socialite Elizabeth Irungu says Jaguar will drop “kigeugeu” remix part 2 to demonstrate how the electorates betrayed him when he loses Starehe parliamentary seat.

Ms Irungu is confident Jaguar will lose the election by early in the morning.

“Our dear Jaguar the Kenyan music star and Boniface Mwangi the activist, will soon realize that politics is not music or a street to demonstrate on! eeeeeh ni poa kujaribu but I tell u,people will fill up at Jaguar’s rallies just to hear him sing but come election morning mtaona kijivumbi nyinyi! Jaguar ata release “kigeu geu” remix part 2 ni vile amegeukwa! Uliza akina Mudomo Baggy na KJ vile walifanywa! Raia ni comedy walikuwa wanaenda kujisikilia kwa rally zao, wacheke wafurahii warudi home!!! Na Pius Muiru je? Stadium zilikuwa zinafura na watu! Akiona crowd anachocheka yake yote na kumbe ni mahubiri yake wamekujia!!! No I don’t mean disrespect here ni reality check tu! I come in peace but YOU JUST GO KNOWING SIASA IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME!!!” Elizabeth Irungu wrote.
