PHOTOS: This is what former Photo-Activist Boniface Mwangi is doing after ‘Retiring from Activism’

Until last week, Boniface Mwangi was the face of Kenyan street demonstrations. The professional photojournalist felt it was time to hang his boots and concentrate on his family saying, “I want a normal life.”

However, Boniface will not fizzling away just like that. The Prince Claus laureate has launched a forum for picketing ‘mildly’, Diaper Mentality.

Diaper Mentality is a forum that will be driven by Kenyans dedicated to making a difference in their society. Railing against corruption, impunity, and poor governance, Mwangi feels that Kenyans need to grow up.

“In comparison to other countries, Kenya is considered a “young” nation. Unfortunately, some of our countrymen and women take this compliment literally, and behave like the little ones. Just like children, they do their ‘business’ in public which is embarrassing to them and those around them. Hence the title, ‘Diaper Mentality’ as diapers come in handy, and shields them from making embarrassing displays.”

The forum is already hugely popular on social media thanks to its sidesplitting images. Here are some;
