Royal Media Radio Host Loses His Celebrity Mother Just 5 Months after Losing His Dad

Celebrated Hot 96 host and MC, Chris Okinda, is grieving.

Last Saturday the drive show host lost his celebrity mother. Mrs. Elizabeth Aruwa, an accomplished season actor on TV passed on after she succumbed to cancer.

Mrs. Aruwa or Mum (as she was fondly referred to in acting circles) doesn’t need any introduction as she was a recognizable face in numerous TV adverts and TV programs. Before her untimely death, she featured in plentiful TV programs among them, “Changes”, “Makutano Junction”, “Siri” and the “Fungua Roho Yako. Ongea” campaign on TV & billboards.

Her battle began with cancer started in 2012 when she was operated on to remove a tumor in her stomach. Unfortunately, she passed on at 1AM on 22nd March from colorectal cancer.

News of her death came a shock to her son, Chris, who lost his dad, in October 2013.

The Hot 96 presenter eulogized mum saying,

“My dear mother Elizabeth showed me the meaning of the word ‘strength’ and when mama died this morning, the world lost a little of its light.”

Elizabeth shall greatly be missed. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
