Avicii’s family announces funeral plans

The family of the late Avicii have released their plans for his funeral. This, they said through a statement that was released on Tuesday.

In it, they say that the funeral will include people who were closest to Avicii. They asked the media to respect their decision.

No more information about the funeral will be made public.

Statement

“There have been many inquiries regarding the funeral arrangements for Tim Bergling, known by music fans as Avicii,” the statement reads. “The Bergling family has now confirmed that the funeral will be private, in the presence of the people who were closest to Tim. They kindly ask media to respect this. There is no additional information forthcoming.”

Avicii was found dead last month in what is said to have been a suicide attempt. He had in the past suffered acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking. After having his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, he canceled a series of shows in attempt to recover.

A statement issued late last month by the family seemingly confirms that Berling took his own life.

“Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions,” it reads. “An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.

“When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness, and could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.

“Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.

“Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive.

“We love you, Your family”

Avicii cause of death revealed

Avicii died from loss of blood caused by a self-inflicted wound, according to a new report.

The Swedish DJ – whose real name is Tim Bergling – was found tragically dead at the age of 28 in Muscat, Oman, on April 20.

According to TMZ.com, multiple sources have confirmed the EDM superstar committed suicide, cutting himself with a piece of broken bottle, causing massive bleeding.

Avicii’s family last week released a second statement following his passing, which alluded that he had taken his own life.

The statement, which was originally written in Swedish, read: “Stockholm, 26 April 2018. Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress. When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness.

“He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight. Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you, Your family [sic]”

Following Avicii’s untimely passing a police report on the cause of death is expected imminently.

The ‘Wake Me Up’ hitmaker suffered from various health problems in his life including acute pancreatitis – which was caused in part by excessive alcohol consumption – and in 2014 he had his appendix and gallbladder removed before he retired from touring in 2016.

DJ Black Coffee joins world in paying tribute to Avicii

DJ Black Coffee was shattered by the news of Avicii’s death. He joined the world in paying tribute to him in an emotional post on social media.

“Oh my God. It knocked me hard. I was trying to talk to him last week. We were planning on working on some music together. He had business in South Africa so I saw him there, just talking about collaborating. But last week, we had a conversation. It was like, “what do you want to do?” He was really excited about what he’s been listening to, what he was inspired by. I didn’t see anything coming. I was on a flight in Mexico City. As soon as I landed I got all these messages. Young dude. Extremely talented.”

Black Coffee also dedicated a portion of his Coachella set to him.

Avicii was found dead in Muscat in unclear circumstances. He had previously admitted to addiction and had been in hospital twice for alcohol-related issues.

His body is expected to return to Sweden soon.
