Jub Jub And Kelly Khumalo Join Hands For Initiative

Jub Jub And his ex-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo have joined hands in a campaign against a rising death toll on South African roads.

The campaign is titled ‘Asifikeni’. It will be led by the Gauteng Department of Community Safety and Blackbrain Pictures. It is meant to promote road safety and put an end to road fatalities.

Jub Jub has learned the hard way when he committed a crime and killed four school children and injured two. This was in an accident in 2012,when he was driving under the influence.

“I would like to encourage South Africans to be more vigilant and responsible on the roads.

“I know the tragedy of losing people you love, also having been the perpetrator, I urge all South Africans to be responsible and be safe,” he says.

Kelly Khumalo too shares Jub Jub’s sentiments.

“This campaign is very close to my heart. We have all lost loved ones or know someone who has lost a loved one due to a car accident. Let us be extra careful on the roads and stay sober behind the wheel at all times,” she says.

Other celebrities in the campaign include Dineo Nchabeleng, DJ Sabby and Nelisiwe Sibiya.

Jub Jub opens up on his new show

Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye e is making his way to your TV screens as the host of a brand-new show.

Speaking to The Juice his new show is Titled Uthando Noxolo, the show is all about forgiveness. “The show goes both ways. First of all it’s about forgiving yourself and then about you going out to extend forgiveness to someone who has never asked for it. Secondly, it’s you asking for forgiveness from someone who you’ve offended,” Mpho Lengane, producer of the show.

When asked about why Jub Jub was chosen at the host, Mpho says it was because of his own journey with forgiveness. “His apology was very public. It was to the entire country and the families that were immediately involved with what happened a few years ago. He’s still dealing with the repercussions of his actions then. There are people who have still not forgiven him, there are people who have forgiven him.”

With this new show, he aims to achieve something in life, and therefore teach people the importance of forgiveness.

“I took this project because to me it’s not really about the show but about the importance of teaching people forgiveness and connecting with them. Before asking forgiveness it is important that you forgive yourself for your mistakes before going and asking for forgiveness from the people you hurt.”

Jub Jub forgives himself

Jub Jub  has forgiven himself for the accident that left four children dead in 2010. He has done this in order to move forward.

He revealed the source of his strength to soldier on.

“The most important thing is forgiveness‚ it comes from God. So I forgave myself and God forgave me… It really doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks because that gave me the energy and the ability to move on.”

In order to continue with his purpose, he says,  he had no choice but to forgive himself.  He revealed that he still went to therapy to deal with it.

“Yeah‚ I had to because if I didn’t then I wouldn’t be able to move on. It took a lot for me to get there though. It took a part of me dying‚ it took a part of me losing everything and really humbling myself. I had to look at things in a different way‚ forget about myself and learn to think about the next person. All that needed to happen but I had to forgive myself first.”

Jub Jub learnt from the whole experience. The musician said he was not proud of what happened in 2010‚ and had learnt from it.

The rapper said the lessons he’d learnt were not only an inspiration for his music but also inspired him to teach others important life lessons.

Jub Jub’s highly-anticipated album is set for release in February next year.

Power and Spirit of forgiveness: Greatest lesson Jub Jub learned

Having embarked on a self discovery journey since his release from prison early this year, nothing but love has been poured to him by his fans. In 2010, Molemo Maarohanye (Jub Jub) and his friend Themba Shabalala caused a serious accident when they were drag racing under the influence of hard drugs on a public road near a school. Four children were killed and another two survived with brain damage. They were arrested in 2012 and served time for the death of four children.

One of the biggest lessons he has learned is the power and spirit of forgiveness.

Because of forgiveness, Molemo has been given another chance at a better life, another chance at freedom and another chance to follow his dreams. Aside from catching up with the rest of the artists in the music industry, he has made it a personal mission to give back to the community and inspire young South Africans through his personal experience and teach them the importance of forgiveness.

One of the main people Jub-Jub wants so badly to reconnect with is his son Christian, whom he co-parents with Kelly Khumalo. He also wants to catch up on lost time with family. In a sit-down interview with Morning Live Jub-Jub admitted to claims that he is a married man and has been for the longest time and when asked about his relationship with Kelly Khumalo and his son, he simply refused to comment.

While working on new material, Jub-Jub tries to gain back his fan base by making appearances at other artists shows like he did this past weekend at Major League Gardens.
