Miss SA Tamaryn Green prepping for Miss Universe pageant

The 2018 Miss Universe pageant is about a month away. Tamaryn Green is preparing for the beauty pageant, in hopes of walking away with the title.

She let us in on some of the activities that take place in preparing for the beauty pageant.

“From gyming and keeping healthy, to practicing makeup and hair, working on my stage presence and keeping up with world news. There is a lot that goes into preparations.”

The preparations are considered more intense and goal-directed as compared to those that are for the Miss South Africa crown.

This year’s Miss Universe pageant will take place in Bangkok, Thailand on 16th December.

The country is therefore hopeful that Tamaryn will be able to pull a back-to-back win, and bring the crown home again.

She took to social media to show us tiny bits of her stay there and we must say, we are a bit envious of Tamaryn.

From enjoying time under the sun to the food, she is clearly having the time of her life.

Miss SA Tamaryn Green is looking beautiful on September’s issue of Sarie magazine.

She is in a cobalt blue dress, reminiscent of the one Charlize Theron wore to the 2016 Oscars.

“Now is my time as role model,” reads the cover copy.

Tamaryn has previously spoken about her passion to empower the youth.

“Have a dream. Doesn’t matter how big or small it is. When you’re growing up it’s important to have a goal. Even if you don’t reach your specific dream, you will still reach success.

“Work hard. Don’t give it. We all have different circumstances and barriers, but don’t be afraid to ask for help. Being vulnerable doesn’t make you weak,” she added.

Bonang Matheba set to take part in Miss SA

Bonang Matheba will be joining Miss SA. Not as a contestant, but as the host. She has been on Miss SA before, in 2014 when she acted as a judge.

“Having grown up watching the Miss South Africa pageant, I feel very honoured to be part of this two-hour spectacular in a year in which this South African institution celebrates a huge milestone anniversary,” said Bonang.

Miss SA is set to take place on the 27th of May at the Sun Arena in Pretoria.
