Skolopad collapses at SAMAs

The SAMAs that were held on Saturday experienced a bit of drama when Skolopad collapsed and had to be rushed out by paramedics.

Paramedics then said that she was fine and suffering from exhaustion.

“She fainted, she is OK, it was just some weird exhaustion. But she is awake and still on my stretcher,” he said before rushing back to her.

Last year, Skolopad made headlines during the SAMAs for her boerewors ensemble. This year, by the time she arrived, the red carpet was already closed.

Shekhinah won big this time round. She scooped all awards in the top five categories. Her album Rose Gold, won her album of the year, female artist of the year and newcomer of the year.

Somizi, Dineo and Mpho to host the Samas 2018

Somizi will be returning as host for the Sama 2018 awards, third time running. He will also be joined on stage by Dineo Ranaka and Mpho Popps.

Dazzling experience

“We are going all out to ensure that SAMA24 is a dazzling experience,” RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said.

“As the most credible and premier music awards show in the land, we have to keep up the standards and the hosting team is proof that we have secured only the finest and best our country has to offer.

“We believe Somizi, Dineo and Mpho will hit all the right notes and leave us entertained.”

 

 

2018 SAMA nominees list is out

The 24th South Africam Music Awards (Samas) nominees were announced last night. It features some of the upcoming artists and big names in the music industry such as Shekhinah, Mi Casa and Prime Circle.

The awards are scheduled for the 27th of May at The Sun City Resort. It will be aired at 2000hrs on SABC1.

The Sama nominees for record of the year will be announced today on LiveAmp, while those in the top five categories will be named in May.
