Somizi Mhlongo said that this year will be the very last time he’ll be hosting the Samas.
Somizi was announced the host for Samas 2018, the third year in a row, alongside Dineo Ranaka and comedian Mpho Popps.
Taking to Instagram, Somizi wrote: “This year is definitely my last time hosting. I’m pulling all stops. I’m giving my all. I’m not holding back.”

Somizi says he has a very thick skin, so will be able to handle any insult that comes his way. Hopefully the panel will too. In the clip below he talks about controversial poet and Twitter celeb Mazwai, who he says must also have a thick skin because she apparently baths so infrequently.

He told The Citizen that with “Ntsiki it’s gonna be personal”.

“Because Ntsiki … she just blabbers … and offends people. And she thinks this world is … she can just wake up and say s**t about people. And it’s okay.
“She has a bad way of looking for attention. So this is a way to speak my heart as well.

Somizi has revealed he is engaged to his current boyfriend Mohale and we are all eager for the wedding.

“It’s going to be a destination wedding, it’s going to be very far, like a 26 hour flight,” he told Anele.

Speaking to Sunday Times in December, Somizi said that he was inspired by Mrs. Minnie Jones’ nuptials, but wanted to go even bigger and better.
“My wedding would be 10 times Minnie Dlamini’s. Minnie is my inspiration like a fairytale.”
Somizi wrote an open letter to the newly appointed minister of police. The minister, Bheki Cele, is famous for his “shoot to kill” orders.
Somizi therefore decided to address this on his Instagram account.

Somizi has been making posts suggesting he is off the market, without really revealing who has taken him off the market.

Somizi is the latest person to weigh in on Emtee manhood drama.Emtee accidentally flashed his manhood on instagram live .
Somizi commented on the incident on his Metro FM Breakfast show with DJ Fresh on Tuesday, Somizi claimed that the incident was a result of Emtee being surrounded by “yes friends” and people that didn’t have his best interests at heart. He further questioned the company the rapper kept and advised him to get new friends.
“For me, it was a mistake but one that could have been avoided from the onset. It worries me when I see a career that is doing well and a talented young man making stupid mistakes because you’re surrounded with fans that are disguised as friends.”
He also weighed in on the jokes being made about Emtee’s manhood.
“Console yourselves all you want. All I am saying is if you are short, you can only stretch your arm to a certain extent. If you are tall you are tall,” he said.
Commenting on the incident to Tshisa Live after an Instagram Live video showing his private parts went viral on Monday, Emtee explained that he had been using the bathroom while speaking to fans when the mishap happened.
“I was in the toilet and answering fans’ questions on Instagram live. I needed to pee but without thinking I used the same hand I was holding my phone while I was doing my thing and used the same hand to flush. I didn’t even think about it until I realised what I had done and I immediately apologized. I was like ‘oh, no!,'” he said.
The Pearl Thusi hitmaker described the incident as a “big mistake” but said he was unfazed by the jokes about him.
This is after being encouraged by a Metro FM caller who lost their sight.
He revealed the news this morning during his morning show. On the discussion about World Sight Day, Somizi told listeners that after giving it a lot of thought he decided to get treatment.
“I have decided to get laser eye treatment in a few week’s time. I have booked it already,” he said.
Somizi’s right eye started to itch a while ago and had become uncomfortable, but he did not get treatment because he was scared it would involve needles.
After meeting with a listener who went blind, it encouraged him to get treatment.
“When I was talking to Senzo (the listener) I told him that my eye was itchy and he told me that I should not scratch it. He said I must go get it looked at,” he explained.
