STARTIMES SPORT 2 CHANNEL LAUNCHES, PROMISES EXHILARATING ACTION

Pay Television Company StarTimes Media has introduced a new exciting sports channel that will feature unrivaled sporting action featuring soccer, golf, tennis, rugby, cricket, car racing and extreme sports. The channel, named StarTimes Sport 2 will also air daily up to date sports news and magazine to its subscribers across Kenya in a move aimed at further boosting the company’s entertainment offering.

The channel adds to an array of other sports offering from StarTimes that include Setanta Africa, Setanta Action, NBA TV, EuroSport News, MCS and MCS Extreme becoming the seventh sports dedicated channel of the over 70 channels available on the Pay Television platform.

Speaking on this latest development, StarTimes Vice President for Marketing Mr. Hans Han emphasized the brand’s commitment to progressively enrich the content available to its subscribers noting that sports offering has proved increasingly popular in Kenya which has prompted the company to further boost its offering while still maintaining the cost of existing bouquets as it seeks to add its competitive edge and further entrench itself as the preferred Pay Television service provider.

“We are very excited about the addition of the new Sport 2 channel which we believe will be a hit in the Kenyan market given its rich sporting action. Sport 2 will be available on the Classic bouquet that costs Ksh. 999 per month to ensure the majority of StarTimes subscribers do access and enjoy the sporting experience. The Pay Television Company is looking into further enriching the channel packaging in a strategic move to grow its market share.

Among the exciting tournaments to be beamed live via Sport 2 include the French League 1 that kicks off on 8^th August 2014 to 23^rd May 2015 as well as the UEFA European qualifiers that will feature 24 countries battling it out for the European title.

The International Champions Cup is also expected to be aired live as eight teams including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AS Roma, Liverpool, AC Milan, Manchester City and Olympiakos fight for glory being a selection of the eight most prestigious football clubs in Europe.

StarTimes Sport 2 promises to be the ultimate channel where subscribers will catch the kings of the game.
