Amina Mohammed speaks for the first time after loosing the AU chair seat and Kenyans troll her badly…even more than when it was declared she lost

Just what did Amina Mohammed ever do to Kenyans? Yesterday news broke out that she had lost the AU chair position to Chadian Foreign Minister, Moussa Faki Mahamat and thinking Kenyans would sympathize with her and encourage her to trudge on, they did the exact opposite.

She has been turned into an object of ridicule for the better part of the day with many Kenyans actually excited that she lost the position. According to majority of Kenyans online, she was nothing but Uhuru’s flower girl and her clinching the position would have done nothing but advance Jubilee impunity.

Harsh harsh I tell you but it got even worse when she spoke for the first time after the loss. She called for investigations for neighbouring candidates who failed to vote for her and Kenyans were hearing none of it.

They began yet another onslaught and the #amina speaks has been trending ever since.

Here are some of the horrendous sentiments it bears:

God heard Kenyans’ cries! Kenyan journalists react to Amina Mohammed’s historic lose at AU

President Uhuru’s government fronted Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed for the position of African Union Commission chair. Majority of Kenyans were praying for her failure and the heavens answered their prayers.

Chadian Foreign Minister, Moussa Faki Mahamat, was elected the African Union Commission chair and Kenyans on Twitter erupted with joy and expressed relief.

Majority of Kenyans were sick tired of the government’s decision to prioritize Amina’s candidacy for the AU job over other important issues like ending doctors’ strike.

President Kenyatta met and held talks with President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana , Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, Jacob Zuma of South Africa, Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe Patrice Trovoada, Hage Geingob of Namibia, Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and President Paul Kagame, to ask for their support in ensuring Amina Mohammed wins AU Commission chair.

The Foreign Affairs CS and DP Ruto made numerous trips across the continent to lobby for Kenya’s bid for AU commission chair post.

Some Kenyans questioned the cost of shuttle diplomacy to campaign for Amina Mohammed after news came in that she had been defeated; most Kenyans were  however in a jubilant mood after her defeat.

This is what first lady Margaret Kenyatta revealed about CS Amina Mohammed that will drive you wild with envy

If you thought Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed had it all, think again…there is more to her life than you think.

Actually she might just have it all as it was revealed by the first lady recently. She was speaking at some luncheon in a Nairobi hotel and she had nothing but sweet words for the CS.

“You have made Kenya proud. Keep flying the Kenyan flag high. We know you are going higher. We wish you the very best”, said the First Lady where various speakers including two cabinet secretaries described their colleague as a smart, intelligent and bold.

And she did not end it there. She also revealed that Amina Mohammed is not only good at her work but also manages to maintain a very healthy family life; bet you never expected that.

“Even as she traveled the world working incessantly to broker bilateral agreements and preserve peace, I have seen her simultaneously prioritise her family; her children and their wellbeing, their milestones, their lives. She has modelled these virtues while giving grace to those who earnestly try to do the same.” she said.

Amina Mohammed is in the running for the AUC chairperson post will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, during the 28th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government slated for January 30-31.
