Early this year, one of the biggest shockers hit the media fraternity; that Njogu wa Njoroge was leaving Kameme to go and start off Gukena FM; a Radio Africa project.
Everyone went gaga; just why exactly was he going? Had he gone insane? He seemed so happy at kameme?
Well in life change is inevitable and clearly Njogu wa Njoroge’s time had come (though I’m inclined to think the 1.8 million salary he’s getting contributed greatly to his move).
As we can confirm right about now, Gukena is bound to go live tomorrow and Njogu wa Njoroge will be at the forefront starting off from 6 AM to 10AM.
And apparently he’s not only the only superstar in the station. Njoki wa Mburu who was also poached from Kameme will be joining him. She will be taking over from 10 AM to 3 PM and Radio Africa is banking on her massive influence among women and young girls to make a kill especially when it comes to addressing issues affecting homes.
Then there is Sir Anthony Mithamo. I don’t know much about the lad but Mpasho- another product of Radio Africa described him as young, versatile and very promising radio star who will wow his audiences with his easy wit and charm. He will be headlining the evening drive from 3PM to 7PM.
And what exactly is the out of the box edge Gukena FM is bringing to the table? Well, let me just allow the Station’s program controller Anthony Muthoni break it down for you:
