The Kenyan Basketball Finals to Be Aired on Zuku in HD

After two entertaining conference finals in Moi Eldoret for the Western and the Nyayo Gymnasium for Nairobi; focus now shifts to the big one: The national finals at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani.

This is the first ever universities basketball event to be hosted in the whole of the East African region. The national finals will see all the top teams from all the four conferences; Nairobi, Western, Coast and Central converge in Nairobi for a  two day knock out event on the 11th and 12th of October.

The teams expected at these finals include; USIU, UON, TUK, TUM, Dedan Kimathi University, Maseno City, Maseno main, MKU- Nakuru, MKU eldoret and Egerton. These teams will be battling it out for not only the title, ZUBL 2013 champions but also the kshs 150, 000 that comes with winning the championship. This money will be awarded to the winning institution to assist them improve their basketball facilities in the various institutions.

Teams will be looking at dethroning USIU who are the team to beat in both the men’s and women’s categories, a task which is going to prove difficult but the teams coming to this year’s national finals are up to the challenge. The USIU men have a tough test in the name of MKU-Nakuru and Maseno main who have vowed to take the ZUBL title back to the Western conference when the finals come to an end.

The unique thing about these finals is that, for the very first time, there is going to be a basketball village right outside the game venue and the basketball lovers will get the chance of being up close and personal with the games because for the first time at the Kasarani gym, fans will be seated courtside, right next to the action. The semi finals and finals of the event at kasarani will be aired live in HD on ZUKU sports channel 300.
