‘The Star’ Falls for ‘The People’ Prank as it Copies a Fake Story & Runs it as An Authentic One (PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE)

Yesterday (April 1st), you may have had to break down and shed real tears before you were to be taken very seriously. Not for The Star newspaper though.

As one of its Fools’ Day tomfooleries, The People newspaper yesterday ran a prank story about AFC Leopards talisman, Jacob Keli, alleging that he’s joining Italian side, Inter Milan. Most of its readers seemed to have bought the story and the paper deemed it fit to clarify to them that the story was a hoax.

However, their colleagues at Radio Africa seemed to have missed the joke and went ahead to publish the story in today’s issue of The Star! Unknown to the writer and the media house, the story was in fact a prank but too late for them because the paper was already in circulation!
