As we had promised, It’s Big was finally launched in the 6 towns across Kenya and true to their word, it was an ultimate success.

East Africa’s biggest ever national lottery was unveiled on Saturday at the Nyayo National stadium with a star-studded line up of artistes both local and international. Performances included Tanzania’s King Kiba, Uganda’s Radio and Weasel, STL, Redsan among other local acts. The Pambazuka National Lottery (PNL) was launched as a Kenyan lottery established in 2016 aimed at introducing world-class best practices into the Kenyan market. The lottery was launched live on air on NTV and KTN across six different counties, namely; Mombasa, Meru, Nakuru, Kisii, Kisumu and Nyeri.

Lotteries are extremely popular across various countries and have a history that dates back to 100B.C. A lottery is a means of raising money in which people pay for the opportunity to win cash and other prizes. The distinctive element that sets apart lotteries from other forms of gaming is that it costs only a small amount of money for a chance to win a hefty jackpot. Although the odds for winning are extremely slim, the huge jackpot is the main selling feature with rollover jackpots spurring great ticket sales.

The PNL launch came after the culmination of a successful campaign dubbed the Its Big campaign that had various roadshows and activations done in different parts of the country. The Its Big campaign also went around the city doing good deeds thus changing the lives of Kenyans. The biggest good deed was done this morning with the organizers of the campaign delivering maternal and new born care packs to 47 hospitals across the country.Other beneficiaries of the good deeds campaign were the Mary Faith Rescue Centre in Dagoretti, Provisional General Hospital in Nakuru, Mariakani Hospital in Rongai as well as Makau Muli, a student suffering from Fibromyalgia, who was given funds to assist him seek medical attention.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Hussein Mohamed, CEO Bradley Ltd said that he was delighted to be unveiling the PNL product that is set to revolutionize the lives of Kenyans. “It is an honor to be introducing this never been seen before brand in the market. The Pambazuka National Lottery seeks to provide revenue-generating entertainment through the sales of an innovative product that will generate both social and economic benefits to Kenya as a whole.” He said.

“As it has been witnessed with the various events leading up to this launch, the Its Big campaign has been everywhere across the nation, giving to different groups of people in need. This is just the beginning of the many lives that will be changed through PNL. Therefore, this is a brand with a difference,” Hussein added.

The lottery is set to be the preferred lottery in Africa by inspiring belief and creating optimism through the delivery of an engaging experience whilst offering consistent superior consumer interaction. The model of PNL will endeavor to have beneficiaries such as communities through the lottery projects i.e. good deeds; player winnings, government through taxation and the business segment through retail segments.

The Pambazuka National Lottery is open to anyone above the age of 18 years and will have a huge jackpot starting at Kshs 100 million with two mini jackpots of Kshs 10 million each. Participants can play the lottery through the SportPesa gaming platform or by buying their tickets from Pambazuka vendors across the country.
