Top Comedian Set to Perform in Kenya

One of the comedians sourced from all over Africa to perform at Eric Omondi’s African Kings of Comedy show is Carl Ncube.

The Africa Kings of Comedy event will take place on 26th October at the KICC between 6.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m. Regular tickets to the show will retail at Kshs. 1,000 and Kshs. 2,000 for VIP tickets.

Described by CNN African Voices as the “New face of Zimbabwean Comedy,” Carl broke into the Zimbabwean comedy scene with his debut one-man show Carl Joshua Ncube’s BIG ANNOUNCEMENT setting him up as the biggest Zimbabwean stand up comedians.

Considered by his peers as an innovator, he is constantly pushing boundaries in multimedia. Carl is currently on a quest to take his version of Zimbabwe to the world.

Carl began to plan his biggest show using Book Cafe as a base, he made many appearances at events like the Bocapa Open Mics, Story Telling, Womens Day and AIDS Day.

Carl later embarked on one of his most ambitious projects, a one-man show very early in his career followed by a national tour. Carl’s performances thrilled audiences nationwide earning him the title of one of the biggest stand up comedians in Zimbabwe.

Carl launched his blue print for a world tour and set off from Bulawayo performing in Selebi Pikwe in Botswana, Ten Lusaka in Zambia and Kampala Uganda. Carl racked up lots of amazing reviews as his tour built up momentum and began to set Carl’s reputation as a versatile comedian with much potential.

CNN’s African Voices called Carl in for an interview exposing Carl to a wider audience shedding light on hisaspirations to tour the world and spread the message about Zimbabwe.

In South Africa, the renowned comedy club, Parkers Comedy and Jive gave Carl a break by giving him performances in their famous club, allowing Carl to perform with some biggest names in the  South African comedy industry such as Mel Miller, Dave Levinsohn, Kedibone Mulaudzi.

Carl managed to get a number of performances in the South Africancomedy circuit becoming a regular at comedy nights such as Parkers Comedy club, Wednesday Comedy Nights and Carnival City.

Podium the Comedy Merchants who have exclusively managed iconic comedians such as Trevor Noah, Eugene Khoza and Loyiso Gola developed a stand up comedy showcase called Stand Up Africa, putting together some of the biggest names in African comedy like Basketmouth, Daliso Chaponda, David Kibuuka, Ndumiso Lindi, Kagiso Lediga and Carl Joshua Ncube.

Next stop was Nite of a Thousand Laughs EXTRA. He performed in show by Opa Williams in Abuja,  Nairobi andUganda alongside great African comedians from across the continent Klint da Drunk (Nigeria), Mandy (Nigeria), Eric Omondi (Kenya), Funny Face (Ghana), Patrick Salvado Indringi (Uganda).

As part of his educational comedy tour of the United States of America, Carl was given his debut at the famous Gotham Comedy Club in New York in November, 2012.
