The Reason why Flavia’s Function was so modest

Flavia Tumusiime and Andrew Kabura’s recent ‘Kuhingira’ ( introduction ceremony) attracted massive attention from internet trolls due to how modest it looked which is not familiar to Ugandans.

While slay queens and their parents use the opportunity if such functions to take bank loans to showoff that they made it,  Flavia’s was totally the opposite.

Kabura took only few items like bags of sugar, soda and few more which were  not shown at the occasion. This is because Flavia’s mother allegedly refused any show of opulence.

She advised that the event should be strictly a celebration of love.

Flavia’s mother is a born-again Christian and it is this background that inspired her decision.

Can Ugandan parents learn from this?
