Watch the Official trailor “The Kalabanda ate My Homework”

We have all heard about this creature in our primary or secondary school education especially the boarding section. The Kakalabanda, that wakes up in the night and walks; “Kock, Kock, Kock” checking if the children are asleep.

There is a new short animated film “A Kalabanda ate my homework”that will prove if that myth actually exists. It is briefly about a girl, Tendo.

Remember those sit days in school when the teachers woulsd ask person by person to hand in their work? Well Tendo was one of the victims, and she has an excuse, “The Kalabanda ate my homework”

The teacher

This short film is by Creatures animation studio, which was started by one man called Raymond in 2015. According to thisisuganda.org, Raymond explained;

“I quit my job in Malaysia to come back and start an animation company that will develop Ugandan animation films. Uganda, East Africa and Africa are blessed with a rich culture, experiences and stories that have the potential to translate into impactful entertainment “

Tendo

The short animation was written by Robin Malinga and is voiced by Martha Kagimba, Patrick Idringo Salvado, comedian Daniel Omara and Faith Kisa.

“We are planning on developing TV animated shows and feature films in the future and are determined to have them see the light of day.”

From the official trailer, it is indeed something I am very eager for.

The film was also nominated for the Uganda Film Festival, and could just be one that will take the country by storm. We will all believe that Uganda is enriched with a lot of creativity come December 2017.
