“Get Out” Starring Daniel Kaluuya Wins Oscars Award for Best Original Screenplay

We are following this young man with our camera’s pens, spears and arrow. For now, he is Uganda’s golden boy, regardless of the fact that he grew up away. Daniel kaluuya, has been on the movie scene for sometime now, with every set he appears in, attracting massive attention. For the nomination of the Oscars, he failed to scooped the award against Denzel Washington, but for the movie “Get out”, they made it.  One of the horror movies he starred in, “Get Out” has scooped an award for Best Original screenplay. The movie by Jordan Peele, is praised for it’s brave and fierce script. It is a thriller,  though many refer to it as a social horror.

It is about Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), a successful and respected photographer, who enters a white society,  to meet his girlfriend’s family. Before the two head out on their journey, Chris made sure to ask his girlfriend if she told her family that he’s black. She replies that she hasn’t, but that he shouldn’t worry. Busoga officials appeal to Daniel Kaluuya to marry a Ugandan girl

British actor Daniel Kaluuya who is of Ugandan origin is having prime time since his outstanding role in the movie, Get Out, which was rewarded with a nomination in the Oscars. Kaluuya also won the best rising star award in the recently concluded BAFTA awards.

Kaluuya’s family hails from Kayunga, Busoga.

While he enjoys massive success in Hollywood, officials in Busoga have reportedly sent him an appeal to return to Uganda and find a woman here.

According to Busoga Kingdom’s minister of tourism, Hellen Namutamba, “The Kingdom has sent officials to talk to the star about marriage.”

“He is one of us and we are proud of him. We want him to keep our culture strong. That’s why we want him to find a Ugandan woman,” she added.

Kaluuya is one of the actors in Black Panther that has smashed all-time box office records.

Ugandan born British actor Daniel Kaluuya has won the BAFTA Rising star award for his stellar performance in horror film Get Out. Kaluuya beat Florence Pugh, Josh O’Connor, Timothée Chalamet and Tessa Thompson to claim the award which was voted for by the public.

The emotional star praised the ‘Rising Star Award’ nominees in his speech as well as thanking his acting mentors and his family for letting him ‘think different.’

“I’ve gone blank. Thank you, Tessa, Tim, Josh and Florence. I feel so privileged to be in your guys’ company. I am a product of arts funding in the UK. I want to thank people who support that mainstream arts and grass roots levels. Thank you for letting me think different. I wasn’t supposed to say that. We break all the rules,” Kaluuya said.

Daniel has also picked up Oscar, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations for his role as Chris Washington in the 2017 horror film.

Black Panther is out,and everyone’s eyes are focused on our golden Ugandan actors.  Daniel Kaluuya, whose parents are Ugandan, has once again made our country’s name be mentioned on media. He has just scooped an EE BAFTA rising star award.

Apart from having a great sense of humor, this young man shapes his talent with humility. He went ahead to appreciate all that have guided him.

‘Evening, London city, hello… I’ve gone blank, thank you,’ he started, completely full of emotions.

‘Tessa, Tim, Josh and Florence, thanks to the people for voting for us all,’ he added. ‘I feel so privileged in be in your guys company, facts (sic).’

‘I am the products of arts funding in the UK, and I would  like to thank people who financially support that,’ he said.

BAFTA is the British Academy Film Awards, and the 28 year old game successful against Florence Pugh, Josh O’Connor, Timothée Chalamet and Tessa Thompson. He won this rising star award for his role in the horror movie, get out.

Kaluuya however started at a young age. Our sources say that he wrote his first play at nine. He then further exploded when he joined a British teen drama Skins as a writer, as young as 18. Daniel also thanked the woman who led him to where he is.

‘Mum – you’re the reason why I started, why I’m here, you’re the reason I keep going. This is yours. Love peace lets get it.”

Proud of His Heritage: Daniel Kaluuya Wears Kanzu to “Black Panther” premiere

His parents are born in Uganda, and hence we will claim him to be one of our own. Daniel Kaluuya, the celebrity who is creating history in the movie industry is also not shy to show the world that he is an East African Born. The star rocked our famous Kanzu to the premiere of the movie, “Black Panther”

The film is a Disney and Marvel Comics production, and the premiere was held at Dolby theater, Hollywood. Many fans refer to this new release, “Black Panther” as truly and deeply African, hence the theme for the dress code on that night. Our very own rocked a white traditional Kanzu, and a purple blazer on top. He looked handsome as he matched this up with nice sleek black shoes.

Daniel Kaluuya plays W’Kabi in the film, together with other major stars such as Lupita Nyong’o, Chadwick Boseman, David Oyelowo, Danai Gurira. They all represented as their outfits showed the power of Africans. Daniel managed to share the purple carpet with Sterling K. Brown, Martin Freeman, Forest Whitaker, Winston Duke and Stan Lee, who was the writer and executive producer of the movie.

Ugandan actor Daniel Kaluuya Nominated For an Oscar Against Denzel Washington

For the past two years, Ugandans have been showing the world that they too can make it International. From BET appearances, to sports wins, and finally music award wins. Today, Ghafla introduces to you Daniel Kaluuya, who is just a step away from winning an Oscar Award as he features in the same category as Denzel Washington.

Daniel is a Ugandan born in  Britain, and an actor by profession. His parents are Ugandan, and gave birth to the actor in 1989. He made a wonderful appearence in a movie, Get out, his first project. The movie has raised eyebrows, and we have learnet that it had four nominations for Best picture, Best Director, Original Srcreenplay( Jordan Peele) and Best Actor( Daniel Kaluuya)
