Just when we thought 2017 had brought up all the creative proposal juices in Ugandans, 2018 has started off with a bang.
After young girl recently proposed to her aging white boo at cayenne, another young man could not wait for his girlfriend to step onto Ugandan before she became his fiance.
The girl who had just come in from abroad on a Kyeyo had just got her bags to leave the airport when her man got down on one knee.
She said yes and they left the airport in sheer excitement. Let’s hope she had not meet a muzungu those ends.
It is no secret that Kampala loves to party so the Exclusive Smirnoff party was just one of many things that happened on New year’s eve.
The party was an all VIP experience that took place at the Square in Industrial area. The party was sponsored by Smirnoff in conjunction with the luxurious Ciroc vodka.

The Creme of A-listers at the party included; New York based actress and fashion enthusiast, Lucy Bunyenyezi a.k.a Lucy B, coupled with great music from DJs; Kasbaby, JO, Spinny, Chapat, Fem, Ciza, Simples and Da Bundus.
There was also an appearance by English fashion designer of Ghanian decent, Ozwald Boateng OBE.
Although the square didn’t have fireworks of its own, it was a good place to watch fireworks displays from over five top Kampala hotels.
The first edition of the New Year’s Masquerade Ball happened on New Year’s day and they did not disappoint.
It took place at the Golf Course Hotel poolside a serene and what many would call a “bougee” experience as the New year clocked in.
The revelers were entertained by Artists like Bebe Cool, Navio, The Mith, Hellen Lukoma and Tabu Flo dance crew. Djs like Slick stuart and Roja and Dj Chapat scratched the discs keeping people on their feet till the wee hours of the morning.

To top off the excitment, The hotel offered some good discounts on their menu items so revelers could enjoy their the party to the fullest.
It was a red carpet experience and given the official masquerade dub, party lovers jovially posed for cameras, many wearing masks which were available at the welcome area. There was a semi-booth where they would take complementary photos that were printed and given to them there and then.
Radio and television presenter Deedan Muyira, provided the hype as you know it counting down the seconds into the new year.
Being strategically located at the centre of Kampala, party goers enjoyed a full display of fireworks from Golf course and all major hotels and top spots in the city. The fireworks took over the sky for a good 10 minutes which put the revelers in a frenzy.

In the house were more celebrities; comedian Salvador, stylist Joram Muzira, actor Roger Mugisha, Aly Alibhai and wife Sylvia Namutebi and many more.

Once a Don, always a don. Our newly found socialite Bryan spent his New Years Eve at Luzira prison. Our sources say that he has renovated some parts of the prison so that he can enter 2018 like a boss. We can see that this money bag wants to be the big fish in prison too.

Ugandan Musician King Michael also checked his family into Sheraton Hotel. He posted a photo of his beautiful wife and two daughters inside the hotel room. From there they got a wonderful view of the fireworks.
