Arua Says Bryan White Attempted to Bribe them To Vote For NRM

Many thought the Bryan White trip to do charity in Arua was rather spontaneous and unreal. The city socialite visited the district to help the youth, women, and various people with business ventures. He even set up an office in Arua, to continue helping the people. Residents have however accused the city Don of bribing them to vote for the ruling party candidate, Nasura Tiperu.

According to scoop Uganda, we learn that a one Mr Julius Agondua, shared his thoughts. He had participated in most of the activities, and mentioned that they were merely to get votes for NRM.

“We were told to vote for the NRM candidate, saying the Opposition MPs are very poor and do not give money. Bryan told us to love the President and said he would make sure we met the President when he visits Arua.” He  said.

Cash strapped NRM lays off over 400 employees

Ruling Party NRM has laid off 419 employees at administrative and district levels because of financial constraints. General secretary kasule revealed yesterday to media.

“We have issues with payments, this is a restructuring process. We are laying off 132 administrative secretaries at the District level, assistant secretaries and 157 staff members at the headquarters,” she said.

However on a good note Lumumba stated that all the affected staff will be paid their respective arrears before termination date sets in.

“They will also continue working with us for the next two months as required by the law,” she said.

She also added that her office, the offices of; legal, finance director, treasurer and deputy treasurer , electoral commission and commissioner as well the deputy secretary general are not affected in the restructuring process.
