What KTN’s Alex Chamwada Has Done Is The Latest Story On Everyone’s Lips

When he ditched Citizen TV after a long stay, many of us thought Alex Chamwada had finally hang his boots after a journalism career spanning 20+ years. He had been one of the finest journalists the country could brag of. Having earned his masters degree from the University of Liverpool and worked with different respected media houses within and without the country, Alex was leaving behind a legacy that was hard to match.

Alas! He was not leaving our TV screens after all.

Alex made a grand comeback at KTN, giving Citizen TV a hard tackle, and has since gone on to become everyone’s favourite special correspondent.

Many believed he was only good in political reporting until when his return to air with the feature DARING ABROAD underlined his ability to deviate from politics and do human interest stories focusing on current affairs, something that has catapulted him to even greater heights and given KTN an edge over the other TV stations.

In fact it is justifiable to say that every week Chamwada’s section Daring Abroad is among the trending topics on twitter and in Kenya. This is because of the manner in which Chamwada collects, compiles and executes his content. It is also because of the fact that Chamwada takes his time to fly out of the country to look for Kenyans who have risked investing abroad and ended up succeeding immensely.

I will give you a few examples.

First, there is this story of Caroline Ochineng’, a Kenyan lady who flew out to Ghana, started Bata shops in Accra and now has 6 of them to her name.

Today Caroline is a respectable woman in Ghana thanks to the manner in which she has managed to create employment in the West African country.

Here is the video:

Then there is this story of Nazra, a Kenyan lady who has invested in coffee products production in Nigeria. Nazra imports raw coffee from Kenya to Nigeria and makes finished products for consumption in Abuja and Nigeria at large.

Here is her story:

This and many others are some of the stories that have set Alex and his work apart from other journalists. And this is likely to go on with the imminent launch of a new TV station by Standard Group Limited. (Read GHAFLA! EXCLUSIVE: KTN’s Sister Station To Be Launched Finally… But How Different Will The New TV Station Be From KTN?

Alex has got Kenyans excited. And this is arguably the best way all journalists should consider.
