Willy Paul Gives Back to the Mathare Society He Grew Up in (PHOTOS)

When you look at Willy Paul, we imagine him with glamorous, perfect life. Even though he may have success, things didn’t always come so easy. He started life at the lowest rungs of poverty and crime only to later find fame and fortune through talent and hard work.

He’s best described by the catchphrase, “started from the bottom now we’re here”.

Despite his immense success in music (and life generally), Willy Paul hasn’t forgotten where he’s come from. Earlier this week, the “Kwa Vile” hit-maker went back to Mathare slums where he grew up to give back.

Making a stop at Mathare North Primary School, the young Gospel singer paid up fees for the whole year for a number of pupils that will see them attend classes uninterrupted.
