Girl’s Guide to Easily Get Hitched in the Land of Magufuli #fastjet

I would LOVE the idea of traveling back in time this Easter, getting a call of invite to Dar es Salaam was a deal of a lifetime! Though not centrally placed like Dodoma, Dar is the country’s designated social and commercial heart.

I had so much in mind of what to expect: the colorfully clad people who I hear jostle with vehicles and bicycles on the streets, boat rides to Bongoyo and Mbudya Islands- basking on the island’s white-sand beaches, snorkeling- seeing the angelfish, starfish, clownfish, and sea urchins, then to see one of the few world’s Botanical Gardens which was established in 1893 that has the rare and beautiful coco-de-mer palm tree, outside of its native Seychelles. Did I also mention the bustling night life? Oh my, these Tanzanians really know how to party and have fun.  Basically it was thrilling and I look forward to next time.

So first thing that came into mind after the invite, was the cost! Easter wasn’t favorably placed this year…so I knew it was impossible to hack. But then I saw this pop up online while perusing other places to visit about http://www.fastjet.com/ke/en/ . It had something to do with new routes and their discounted new air ticket cost. So following it up, I find out they actually fly to Dar and at a very affordable rate.  It’s just KSH 7, 700 one way, can you believe it?

You’ve no idea how fast I paid, packed and took an off day. Chances like these are once in a lifetime! Wasn’t about to pass up my luck. And I truly have no regret choosing http://www.fastjet.com/ke/en/  because not only are they affordable but their service is world class; thank you very much Suzie for the extra pillow. Will do this again this year, seen they have other route offers.

Stayed for the entire Easter weekend and I enjoyed every moment.

Next stop? Johannesburg.

Need to see its breathtaking Botanical Gardens, it’s South Western Townships; this is a must visit, exploring the Soweto culture- the poverty tourism, be should and humanly close as possible, Nelson Mandela’s home- located on Vilakazi Street. Then there’s the Apartheid Museum; an informative, moving and in a way quite horrifying South African apartheid history, the Constitutional Hill; this can be a chilling experience I hear, getting exposed to violent, indignities suffered by many, both men and woman and people of all races, such a sobering experience.

Not forgetting the fun entertainment activities- the Red City sightseeing bus aka hop on hop off bus, Beerhouse Fourways, getting up, close and personal with the King of the Jungle at the Lion’s Place. This was an adventure waiting to be explored!
