Former WCB singer becomes a barber

Ex-WCB employee and singer QBoy Msafi has come out to reveal that he now works at his Kinyozi but he’s not broke.

Speaking to Tanzanian media pundits, he rubbished claims he is now a broke man.

“When you work with over 50 people, you tend to adapt, but when you leave the organisation, there will be a lot of change because people were giving you support and connection and now they are not,” he said.

He added:

“I am now a barber and being a barber is my life. And unlike reports, this saloon is not Zari’s. I didn’t go to South Africa to beg her for work, I went to finish my studies and get my certificates.”

Regrets

He went on to say that he’s regretting ditching Diamond and his club but there is no hard feeling between them.

“I still have the memories from that place,” he said.

“When you surrender to someone, it doesn’t mean you force them to do what you want. I just asked for forgiveness from the people I worked with. I am human, and I am sinful,” he said in a past interview.

“I realised there are things that I did wrong. Me and WCB don’t have any problem but I did wrong and I wanted to go back. Even today that was my intention, that they forgive and take me back.”

“It is not fair!” Diamond irate after Tanzania Revenue Authority over-taxed his performances

East Africa’s Simba is at loggerheads with the Tanzania Revenue Authority over Ksh 5 million plus tax they want to charge him for his performances.

The top bongo artist has picked on the country’s tax man for trying to overtax his company.

Facing the Tanzania Revenue Authority staff, Platnumz raised complaints on the move, because of his performance in one of bongo’s provinces.

During his speech at the TRA team’s stand, the crooner touched on the fact that the tax authority had asked him to pay heftily for posters in regard to the Wasafi festival held in Iringa town.

Revealing that he did not grant them their wishes because he felt it was robbery without violence.

It did not just add up how he was going to pay more taxes than what he and his team would pocket at the end of their performances.

What he is yet to understand, is how the Tanzanian government has decided to come head-over-heals on the Wasafi team despite their duly paying of annual taxes and being a law-abiding entity.

For instance, Wasafi Limited usually pay its taxes at the end of every financial year. Among the things we do and pay for include the Wasafi Festivals. It is not fair for us to pay the required 18 per cent tax at the end of every year and still pay taxes at the end of every show organised by Wasafi.

From their end, TRA urged the superstar to preserve all receipt and tax documents as evidence for when the revenue officials come knocking.
