Mombasa-based Accountant wins Ksh.20M under Live Casino in Mozzart Online Casino games

Online Casino games have become very popular and Mozzart has a variety of games on offer. A standard live online game lasts a minute – that’s what it takes to grab your winnings.

Peter Kirung’e likes to play Sweet Bonanza Candyland.

The wheel stopped on Candy Drop and attracted a huge multiplier of 1000X after dropping through the virtual plinko wall maze and saw the player take home Ksh 20,180,000.

The player, an accountant by profession, switched to online casino games on offer by Mozzart Bet after missing out on the Urban Cruiser promotion.

This was the biggest ever promotion in the country, that the company ran towards the end of 2021.

“I have been playing the casino since missing out on the Urban Cruiser promotion last year. I have been using Mozzart bet since 2019 on sports betting and I had been winning from time to time. The highest amount I won in 2019 was 50,000, in 2021 I managed slightly over 100,000. But now 2022 has been the best for me,” an elated Kirung’e said.

The 33-year-old was all smiles when he visited the company’s offices to collect his bounty and revealed that betting was part of his routine at the end of every day.

“I learnt playing the casino because I have a busy schedule but I try to play whenever I have some time. I am active mostly at night when I am done with the day’s activities and spend one to two hours playing,” he offered.

Last year, Mozzart Bet run two biggest promotions in the country concurrently; the Urban Cruiser promotion and the Omoka na Moti promotion where one lucky person won a car every day the whole of December.

Industrious Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Moses Mudavadi has been named the club’s February player of the month following his impressive stats in the three matches played.

Mudavadi scooped the inaugural monthly club award introduced in conjunction with shirt sponsors Mozzart Bet courtesy of the four assists he managed.

The loyal and long serving lieutenant skippered Homeboyz to bag seven points out of a possible nine on offer during the month.

Mudavadi who joined Homeboyz in 2012 clocked full time in all the three matches and won the nod from the technical bench to hoist the award ahead of Yema Mwamba, winger David Okoth and the fast-rising centre back Sylvester Owino.

Homeboyz began the month with 1-1 draw against Nzoia Sugar played at the Bukhungu Stadium on February 6 before easing past Mathare United in a 3-1 scoreline at the Kasarani Annex six days later.

Ababa Abeingo wrapped the month with a comfortable 3-1 home win over Bidco United on February 27.

Mozzart Bet Country Marketing Manager Frank Ochieng said the good run the team has been exhibiting in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League compelled the firm to motivate the team and outstanding performers.

“As you know by now, aside from gaming activities Mozzart Bet has been quite passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility. Apart from undertaking CSR initiatives in Healthcare & Access to Clean Drinking Water, we have also majored in Sporting Initiatives.

In our capacity as exclusive betting partners of Kakamega Homeboyz Football Club, we also thought it’s the opportune time to motivate the team players individually through this monthly award, even as they aspire to clinch their maiden Kenya Premier League Trophy.

Mozzart is the first ever sponsor of Kakamega Homeboyz Football Club, and we are proud and glad that our support to the club can be seen in the current Table Standings.”

Homeboyz Chief Executive Officer Benard Shitiabayi thanked the leading betting firm for the continued patronage and it’s efforts in supporting the team as contribution to the growth of the game.

“I can not thank our partners enough for the role they continue to play in development of football and in our club.

This initiative will go a long way in motivating the players to fight up to the final match of the season.” he said.

Mudavadi said:

Madrid can fancy their chances seeing as they have only lost one of the previous five games hosting PSG in European competition while picking victories in all the other four.

What’s more, PSG have won just one of their last eight UEFA Champions League away games against Spanish opposition, in their recent trip away to Barcelona in the round of 16 last season.

This fixture will kick off at 23:00 EAT

Real Betis win over Eintracht Frankfurt, odds 2.05

Betis face off with Eintracht Frankfurt at the Estadio Benito Villamarin for the first leg of their Europa League last-16 contest. This is a first meeting between the two in Europe.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men finished second in their group with 10 points, just three behind Leverkusen at the top, before beating Zenit St Petersburg 3-2 on aggregate in the playoff round.

Nine different players have scored for Betis in the Europa League this season, the joint most-unique scorers of any side along with Celtic.

However, both sides have struggled for form in recent weeks, with Betis failing to win any of their last four matches across all competitions, while Frankfurt have lost three of their last four games in the Bundesliga.

Betis head into the match looking to win their first match against German opposition since 1995-96 and end a run of five knockout games without a home win in European competition.

Their two G encounters against German opposition did not go as they would have hoped.

This fixture will kick off at 20:45 EAT

Sociedad have eleven points between them and Granada who are just five points above relegation. Victory for Sociedad will propel them to 6th above Villarreal on the table and reignite their quest for European football next season.

Their record of four wins over Granada in their last five meetings props them as favorites. Their watertight defense will be tested by teenage recruit Matia Arezo who has a knack of scoring very early in games.

Lens win over Bordeaux, Odds 1.55

Tenth-placed club in French League 1 Lens are huge favorites in Sunday night’s duel with relegation threatened Bordeaux. Lens are five places and just five points shy of the coveted European placing.

While trailblazing Nigeria are favorites tonight, the Tunisians are capable of turning around their fortunes and must not be written off.

Nigeria has one victory over Tunisia in their last five meeting with the rest ending draws. Scoring draws.

After the humiliation in the group stage Tunisia might be a different team altogether in the knockouts. This fixture is not likely to rain goals.

Leicester, managed by Brendan Rogers, sit 10th on 25 points from 18 matches, with no team outside of the bottom six conceding more than the 33 goals that they have shipped in league action.

They are eager to return to action in style by collecting the maximum points tonight.

Man United win over Brentford, Odds 1.94

Under pressure Manchester United travel away to Brentford in a game scheduled for a 2300 EAT kick off.

The Red Devils are currently seventh in the table, five points behind fourth-placed West Ham United, while Brentford occupy 14th position, 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Brentford have won five, drawn nine and lost 10 of their 21 Premier League matches this season to collect 23 points, which has left them in 14th position in the table.

They won back-to-back games against Aston Villa and Port Vale in the league and FA Cup earlier this month but have lost their last two against Southampton and Liverpool in the league, conceding seven times in the process and scoring just once.

Man United enter the contest off the back of a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday night; the Red Devils took a two-goal lead at Villa Park courtesy of a brace from Bruno Fernandes but conceded twice in the latter stages to share the points with Steven Gerrard’s side.

The performance was arguably the team’s best since Ralf Rangnick’s took over but it was a further indication of their shortcomings, having been unable to hold off the pressure from the home side.

The Red Devils have picked up 32 points from their 20 matches, which has left them in seventh spot in the table, five points behind fourth-placed West Ham with two games in hand.

Senegal, jointly with Guinea in group leadership hope to secure direct qualification with victory which would hoist them to seven points from three games. The Sadio Mane inspired Lions of Teranga have won once and drawn once in the group.

Malawi on the other hand lost to Guinea 1-0 in the opening game but rebounded strongly to trounce Zimbabwe 2-1 in their second group match.

With three points, Malawi are third ranked among the third placed teams from across the groups and very much fancy their chances of progress in the AFCON.

Kick-off 19:00 EAT

Morocco win over Gabon. Odds, 1.80

Morocco are already qualified from the Group of Death. But the North Africans would want to top their group and earn a favorable draw in the round of sixteen.

Therefore, they will go all out for a third straight victory over controversy ridden Gabon who will not have their talisman Pierre Emeric Aubameyang’.

Gabon have four points from two games and need a single point from this fixture to guarantee progress.

Victory over Morocco would lift them top of the group but internal strife may cost them. Morocco are favorites to win this fixture and among tournament favorites.

Morocco have scored three times in the tournament but remain unblemished while Gabon have scored twice and conceded one goal.

Kick-off 22:00 EAT

Chelsea win over Brighton. Odds, 1.80

European champions Chelsea face a plucky Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League on Tuesday night after falling to runaway leaders Manchester City over the weekend.

The recent storm over Romelu Lukaku’s interview with Italian media is yet to settle and manager Thomas Tuchel is seeking results to quell the ensuing noise.

Brighton are placed 9th on the table and trail Chelsea by fifteen points but are not far off European places.

A good run of results could lift them to the Conference League positions and how best would they underline their credentials than by stirring inconsistent Chelsea’s teapot further?

Their league record is dismal having just two of their last ten games but the recent 3-2 triumph over Everton can spark a revival as they aim to get into thirty-point mark.

Chelsea on the other hand need to save face after falling thirteen point behind leaders Manchester City.

They are favorites tonight but will be made to work if they want all points. They have only won once in their last five games.

Kick-off 23:00 EAT

Fulham win over Birmingham, Odds, 1.30

Championship leaders Fulham seek to buffer their lead by five points when they host lowly Birmingham in English football’s 2nd tier tonight.

Fulham are favorites over their opponents who trail them by 21 points and are just a few above the dreaded relegation zone.

In twenty-five matches Fulham have banged in 64 goals while letting in just 21. Their opponents tonight are however, shy in front of goal, scoring a paltry 23 while leaky at the back having conceded thirty-three times.

Fulham hammered them 4-1 in the first leg and could run riot in the second to send a statement and of course create the much needed buffer.

Kick-off 22:45 EAT

Sadio Mane is one to watch for the Teranga Lions as the Liverpool man seeks to inspire his team to the knockout stage while Guinea have Issiaga Sylla to look up to.

Kick-off 16:00 EAT

Turkish giants Besiktas are twenty points off league leadership and two places behind tonight’s opponents Gaziantep.

They are however, tipped to defy the odds and carry the day as they play at home eager to close the huge gap between them and the leading pack.

With eighteen fixtures left before the season concludes, second place is attainable to Besiktas as current occupiers of the position Konyaspor are only ten points ahead.

That ambitious hike must start tonight with positive results. The two sides are poised equally in head to head meeting as they have both won twice and drawn once in their last five meetings.

The fixture cold be goal-laden as both teams give as good as they get.

Kick-off 20:00 EAT

It was 1994 when a team (Aston Villa) last reached the competition’s final after losing the first semifinal by more than one goal. Spurs must therefore step up to book a Wembley berth and join history books.

Tuchel has a perfect record of five wins over Spurs with eleven goals scored to one conceded over the course. Conte has got his work cut out to overturn the tables and reach the finals for a rare chance at silverware for Spurs.

Mjengo man winner of Ksh9M Kileleshwa house as curtains come down on Omoka na Moti Promotion.

Curtains spectacularly came down on the biggest ever promotion in Kenya’s betting landscape – Omoka na Mori Daily plus Hao.

A construction laborer Stephen Murigi Munene of Kiambu County emerged as the overall winner of the ultimate prize – a Ksh9,000,000 apartment in Nairobi’s much sought-after affluent neighborhood of Kileleshwa.

The promotion came to a glorious conclusion at the end of December with all 31 cars on offer being claimed by lucky punters while Murigi Munene got the additional apartment for emerging with the biggest odds during the entire month of December 2021.

On Tuesday 4th January 2021, three of the final gamers, Querren Muyuka, Johnson Muhota and John Gitau were confirmed as the winners of the daily motor vehicle giveaways for 27th, 30th and 31st December.

The final trio did not upset the balance which had Murigi Munene atop the leaderboard with a winning ticket bearing combined odds of 19,729 on Christmas Day.

Mozzart Bet, Sponsors of the titanic promotion that spread so much love during the festive period – are in the process of concluding vehicle registrations and ownership documentation for the prizes, including the apartment for final handover.

Muyuka and Gitau were presented with brand new Renault Kwid models while Muhota added a Proton Saga to his parking lot after amassing the highest odds on 27th, 30th and 31st respectively.

Muhota, a 39-year-old photocopier technician photocopies, was delighted to win a car and encouraged the public to make Mozzart Bet their go-to betting site.

“I’m very happy to be one of the Omoka na Moti winners, I would like to tell those who don’t use Mozzart to start using it because their time for winning will come soon.

I’m yet to decide what I will do with the car but the money has been used on Christmas festivities and I’ve also saved some for January,” said the father of one.

Muyuka owns a boutique in Kakamega town and plans to open up a bakery after completing a baking technology course could not hide her joy after being the first in her family to own a car.

“I’m really excited to have won a car, finally our family will get to own a car because my brothers are yet to buy one. I used the money to buy stock for my boutique and I plan to make the car my personal car.

I’m not really into betting but I do it out of curiosity, my cousin helps me to bet because I’m not a fan of football. I have already split some of the cash with my cousin,” said the boutique owner.

Muyuka encouraged those who are yet to win big from betting to continue doing so and asked ladies to also take up betting which knows no gender.

John Gitau, a 41-year-old mjengo worker is contemplating selling the car and pumping the money into his businesses as he became the final winner of the Omoka na Moti promotion.

“God blessed me with a car on 31st December and for those who are usually sceptical about such promotions, I would urge them to try and I can confess that Mozzart Bet services are the best,”

This car will help me but I would prefer to have cash to boost my business so I might consider selling it and get the cash,” said the Manchester United fan.

Lucky law student wins a brand new SUV in Mozzart Bet’s Omoka Na Moti Promo!

Lady luck visited University of Nairobi law student Erick Martin Wafula on Friday after he was named the 28th winner of the Mozzart Bet’s Omoka Na Moti’s promotion.

Wafula was enticed into the month-long promotion when an advertisement popped up on his YouTube at a time when he was unwinding after a long day.

He clicked on the advertisement and quickly registered on Mozzart Bet eager to win himself a car and barely weeks after delving into it, he is a proud owner of a brand new Proton Saga.

The 24-year old who does online writing and runs a shoe business as his part time hustle was fully convinced that the promotion was genuine when a distant friend was declared a winner.

“I had no idea of the promotion until an advertisement popped up on my YouTube. I clicked on it and after finding out what was on stake, I decided to try my luck. I registered on Mozzart Bet and started playing although I didn’t even come close in the first weeks. I got encouraged when a previous winner who is not a stranger to me was feted,” he said.

Apart from winning the car, he pocketed Ksh 27 560 after correctly predicting the outcome of seven matches that had 692 odds. He had staked as little as KSH 50.

Wafula intends to use the car for commercial purposes but will first have to hand it over to his friend for the time he will be in the hunt for a driver’s license.

With the promotion meandering to homestretch, he has hopes of moving from Githurai as the grand prize, an apartment in Nairobi’s affluent estate, Kileleshwa will be dished to the player who has attained the highest total winning.

“I do not have a driver’s license and this means I cannot drive around. I will register the car in one of the online taxi applications and hand it over to a friend. I have hopes of also winning the house,” he added.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Promotion duration: from 1.12.2021 (00:01 h) to 31.12.2021 (23:59 h)

The beginning of all sports events on the ticket must not be earlier than 00:01, December 1st, 2021.

Otherwise, the ticket is not taken into account. I.e., it does not meet the conditions for participation in the promotion.

All bet slips must be from that promotional day. The beginning of the last sports event that is on the bet slip must be no later than 11:59 PM on the day when the bet slip was played. Bet slips that have matches from several promotional days are not included in the promotion.

DAILY PRIZE: The winner of the daily prize i.e. the car, is one participant daily who will have won a multi-bet with the highest total winning odds for that day of December, during the promotion.

This means the multi-bet must be won in-order to qualify for the promotion.

GRAND PRIZE: On top of the CAR, at the end of December 2021, Mozzart bet will also reward only 1 out of the 31 winners who will have attained the highest total winning odds (best winning ticket out of the 31) with an Apartment in Nairobi.

Place a multi-bet of a minimum 4 games.
The minimum stake on your Multi-bet must be Ksh 50.

If a sporting event in your multi-bet is canceled for any reason, odds of 1 are calculated for that event, but the multi-bet still participates in the prize game, but that sporting event is not taken into account for calculation.

In the event that the kick-off of a sporting event is postponed, the ticket still participates in the promotion, but will wait a maximum of 50 hours to confirm the outcome of the event.

In case that two or more participants have same total winning odds, the participant who paid the multi-bet first, has the advantage.

All events on the Bet-slip must be sports events (results of individual or group sports events, a certain event during a sports competition, etc.)

Live Bet tickets, JP tickets, my number, Lucky super 6 and Virtual tickets do not qualify.

One customer can only win one daily prize during the promotion and will be in consideration for the grand prize also.

Each player can play an unlimited number of tickets during the period of promotion.

Despite a walking name, Natembeya refuses to walk as he wins Urban Cruiser SUV with Mozzart Bet!

A Nairobi-based software engineer Francis Natembeya is the winner of Mozzart Bet’s Urban Cruiser Promotion.

Francis emerged as a winner with the longest winning multi-bet of 26 games at the 19th December 2021 close of the promotion.

The 37 year-old native of Bungoma County admitted to wishing everyone else bad luck for his 26-game ticket to win.

His ‘prayers’ were answered as he stayed atop the chart for 47 days with just one pursuer coming close at 24 games.

“I have been stressed ever since I saw my ticket number up there. I wanted everyone else to fail so that my mark is not beaten. The waiting was exhausting and especially the final five days,” offered Natembeya upon confirmation of his big victory.

Mozzart Bet Kenya Deputy Director Wakai Akino noted that the Urban Cruiser promotion was set up to reward devoted clients and also opened up on the Omoka na Moti promotion were a car is to be won every day in December.

“As a gesture of great faith to our loyal punters, we put together this competition and it was wonderful to see how the tickets were getting longer by the time. With the promotion being in December a festive month I’m sure Natembeya’s family will be happy.

We have another promotion currently running that started on the 1st of December all through to 31st and will be awarding winners with the highest odds in a day a brand new car and we will later have a house up for grabs,”

The IT specialist carefully strung together his twenty-six games running over six days from 29th October 2021 to 3rd November, winning a tidy Ksh2,848,938 from his Ksh200 stake.

His menu of carefully but ambitiously marinated bet slip entailed UEFA Champions League games, FKF Premier League, English Premier League as well a host of other European leagues with picks ranging from home wins, away wins, double chances and total goals to be scored.

The meticulous selection yielded its first fruit on 3rd November with the final whistle of Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon’s 4-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Turkish outfit Besiktas.

A Mozzart Bet message announcing the Ksh2.848,938 big hit Natembeya’s phone.

Then the painstakingly long wait for the Ksh3 million Urban Cruiser started. “I have walked for too long just like my name suggests. It has been tough but now I’m happy I won the cruiser,” said he with a chuckle

“The money I used to place that bet was from an earlier bet which I had lost but was paid some consolation from Mozzart Bet. It has brought me my dream car,” he added.

The Promotion which started on 1st of October required punters to put together the longest winning multi-bet with each entry bearing minimum odds of 1.35 and a minimum of Ksh50 in stake.

Natembeya admitted to fretting about losing out to someone else after topping the leaderboard for too long.

“I tried severally to beat my own 26-game mark. I knew everyone is aiming at it and I had had to do better. I strung a couple of multi-bets well over 30 games but lost the bets because one or two results. In the end I’m glad this one stood,” he concluded

Natembeya will be handed his Urban Cruiser in an auspicious ceremony organized by Mozzart Bet who until 19th had been running two concurrent promotions.

Punters on Kenya’s leading sports betting firm can now concentrate on the Omoka na Moti plus apartment which will end on 31st December 2021.

A sassy 22-yr-old actress becomes first lady winner in the Omoka na Moti promotion by Mozzart Bet

After 14 days Rachael Kasongo Muyangu finally became the first lady to win the month-long Mozzart Bet Omoka na Moti promotion on Tuesday 14 December.

The 22-year-old correctly predicted eight games that accumulated combined odds of 2,718 that earned her a Brand New Renault Kwid.

Among the ambitious odds Kasongo placed included Hapoel Ramat Gan beating Hapoel Rishon that had odds of 3.25 as she went on to bet in two other Israeli league matches with the help of her friend.

The ardent Chelsea fan who dropped out of Kenyatta University where she was studying Theatre Arts and Film production after the first semester due to school fees had to resort to business to make an extra coin.

I was a student but I dropped out after my first semester and I’ve been hustling by selling a second hand men shirts and I’m also an actress,”

“I saw a poster with two red cars which I didn’t know the make but I just wanted to own one of them and I told my friend who was doing the betting for me to start using Mozzart Bet,” explained the ecstatic Kasongo.

She put in an investment of Ksh500 and asked her friend to use the money sparingly as her sights were set on winning one of the 31 cars up for grabs.

Besides acting, Kasongo also has an events company that she co-founded with the friend who helped her to bet and they have so far hosted two events which have not been so much of a success.

The actress was inspired into betting after one of her friends won Ksh30,000 back in 2018 and gave it another shot in December 2020 after her first stint failed to deliver high yields.

Kasongo admitted that she thought she was being scammed at first when she won both the money and car with most of her friends also doubting her.

“When I first won the money, I thought I was being scammed and withdrew all the money, then on Tuesday I got a call from Mozzart to inform me that I had won a car, I was walking to a set we were shooting,”

“I told everyone about it and they all burst into laughter and told me it was going to be the worst day because they thought it was a scam, most of the people I tell think that I’m still joking,” added Kasongo.

The first lady to win the Omoka na Moti promotion revealed that she will share some of the money won with her friend who helped in betting and plans to start a car hire business with the car.

There are still 16 cars up for grabs with Mozzart Bet will awarding one vehicle every day in December 2021 to one punter whose multi-bet ticket has the highest accumulation of odds on a minimum fifty bob stake.

From Kibera to Kileleshwa? Slum dweller leads race for Mozzart Bet’s Ksh9M apartment

A 36-year-old barber from Nairobi’s sprawling slums of Kibera took a huge lead in the race for Mozzart Bet’s Ksh9M apartment located in the affluent neighborhood of Kileleshwa.

This is after scoring the biggest win so far in the ongoing Omoka na Moti Promotion.

Agapitas Saikoli, a native of Kakamega County trimming human hair in Kenya’s capital, conjured up a mind-boggling 10696.45 odds from six games on Friday to take pole position in the race for the promotion’s ultimate prize.

Saikoli’s predictions in the six-game multi-bet turned out to be true and he won himself Ksh437,802.

His ticket had the highest odds on the day and he also met the minimum stake requirement of Ksh50. That automatically made him the 10th winner of the Omoka na Moti Promotion.

He will wait for close of the promotion to know if the nine-million-apartment becomes his. The Kileleshwa digs will be awarded to one punter who will have strung a winning multi-bet with the highest odds staked on a minimum fifty bob.

Up until Friday, Duncan Lumumba, the promotion’s 7th winner led the race for the apartment having masterminded a 3401.99 winning odds.

Then Saikoli happened, shattering Lumumba’s mark to set the dizzying 10696.45 winning odds to leave punters strategizing over new tactics to beat the huge mark.

George Ngige, a lorry driver from Kabete became the promotion’s 11th winner on Saturday as he strung together a 4417.89 winning odds to emerge with the day’s best ticket. His fifty bob stake yielded Ksh295,894.

His odds from twenty-seven matches leaped above Lumumba’s but was still a long way short of Saikoli’s leading mark. He drives away with a Kwid for his endeavors.

Omoka na Moti Promotion gives a car daily to one punter who strings together a winning ticket with the highest accumulation of odds each day.

The vehicles on offer, Proton Saga and Renault Kwid, each costing Ksh1.2 million are issued interchangeably every day.

This promotion started on 1st December 2021 will culminate on 31st December with one person getting the ultimate prize, a Ksh9 million two-bedroom apartment in upmarket Kileleshwa.

Mozzartbet settled on Kileleshwa for an apartment as the ultimate prize of Kenya’s grandest promotion as Kileleshwa is the dream neighborhood for millions of ordinary Kenyans.

Meanwhile Saikoli plans to expand his hair-cutting business in the capital with his winnings and venture in the thriving public transport business with his newfound car.

“I knew about the promotion so I was trying my luck to see if I too can win and luckily my combination of games brought me here. I will be watching to see if anyone beats my odds. But I will not just be watching, I will continue playing just in case I hit a bigger winning combination to enhance my chance of getting the house,” Saikoli remarked.

Relief as pre-term twins get a new lease of life thanks to a Mozzart donation in Waithaka, Kikuyu

Elizabeth Wanjiku, a six-month pregnant mother walked into Waithaka Health Centre, on Monday 8 November worried for her unborn twins.

Moments later, her daughters Annabell and Christabel Lisanza were safely delivered but that’s just about the only good news Wanjiku and her husband Milton Lisanza for an eventful two months.

Born three months early, Lisanza’s daughters were, as expected, pre-term. Annabell weighing less 1000g while her sister had just hit a kg on the scale.

“They were so small it took so much courage and will power not to walk out the hospital gates and forget I was married and had two daughters. I couldn’t see any light at the end of this dark tunnel,” narrates an elated Lisanza holding Annabell to his side as Wanjiku holds back tears, Christabell firmly in her arms.

A matatu driver at the time, Lisanza had to quit his job as the early mornings and late nights were not ideal from the journey he and his wife had to walk to save the lives of their bundles of joy.

Lisanza had to quickly learn the Kangaroo Mother Care, a method of care of pre-term infants. The method involves infants being carried, usually by the mother, hence the name, with skin-to-skin contact.

“We had a schedule, I was to come in at midday and take over from my wife who had to care for the two all night and through the morning. It was such a tough time for us. I had quit my job and the bills had to be paid somehow so I resulted to manual jobs at construction sites,”

“That meant, more often than not, I would be late for my turn to take care of the twins. No one will give you a manual job and let you off at midday. Mostly I would just come in at 4 pm and get a mouthful from the nurse in charge of the Kangaroo care. She had the best interest of my wife and children at hand so I understood the concerns,” the father of two explains.

The hospital had floated the option of the parents transferring the twins to a more established facility, Kenyatta National Hospital, being the most affordable option so the infants would be in an incubator.

“We just could not get the funds so we resulted to the Kangaroo care which was the best option and chance for our children’s survival. My wife bore the burden bravely and I couldn’t ask for a better partner,” offered the father.

Two months into the Kangaroo care, a miracle happened! In one of their CSR projects that involves equipping health facilities across the country, Mozzart had identified the health facility and had elected to equip the maternity wing.

Among the donations was a baby incubator, the others included 4×2 crank beds with mattresses, two patient monitors with stands, two Oxygen Concentrators, four bedside lockers, one foetal doppler and monitor and a Digital BMI scale.

“Life changed when the hospital got the incubator. The twins a better chance at life. They had fought for two months and we knew they had it in them to go all the way. For the next two months in the incubator, it was easier for me. I had more time to work and only came in in the evening to check on them. It was a weight lifted off my shoulders as I knew they were safe and my wife would also get some time to rest,” said an elated Lisanza.

Four months after Annabell and Christabel were born, their parents were finally allowed to move out of hospital and have their children at home, albeit under very strict guidelines on what they have to do.

One year on, Annabell and Christabel Lisanza celebrated their first birthday in a big way, back at the facility that was their home for the first four months of their life and Mozzart was at hand with more for the parents and the facility.

With Saša Krneta, the company’s Country Manager in attendance alongside Marketing Manager Frank Ochieng, the leading gaming firm on 10 December donated a 75 litres Autoclave as well as a Vital signs monitor.

Lisanza’s family also got essentials for their children as the facility’s staff joined them in cake cutting to celebrate their babies’ milestones.

“Were it not for the Mozzart’s donation I don’t know how long we would have been in hospital and how life would have panned out. I am grateful to the company for the donations and for helping the medical staff at Waithaka to take the best care of my babies. We cannot thank you enough for this noble initiative and pray that you continue helping other parents in need especially,” the elated father said.

While his family is doing well, the former matatu driver who before Covid-19 hit also had a side hustle caring for and training domestic dogs is hoping for a break in his finances.
