Vusi Nova has finally released the video of his hit son As’phelelanga.
The music video features photos of the late South African music Icons and HHP is also one of the late musicians featured.
Vusi Nova hit song As’phelelanga was recently hit by song stealing claims .
In an Interview with Drum Vusi Nova claimed that he didn’t steal the song and he also revealed he never claimed ownership of the Song.
He further stated that he had done research on the song before releasing it stating that no one had publicly claimed the song to be theirs.
So first of all I haven’t stolen any song and I’ll tell you why I haven’t stolen any song because As’phelelang doesn’t belong to anyone, its public domain,” he said.
“So if you go to SAMRO you’ll see. I did my research even before I recorded the song – I mean this is a song I grew up listening to, it’s a song I grew up singing.”
The Afro-pop star singer also explained that the song which had now become a national hit, he once sung growing up; “Like us as AmaXhosa we go to the mountain; so whenever young boys go to the mountain, the ones that are left behind, sing the song and say ‘asiphelelanga’ … we grew up singing the song.”

Vusi Nova hit single A’sphelelanga is being hit with controversy.
Some artists have come forward to claim that the song was originally theirs and that Vusi Nova owes them royalties as a result.
The song is a traditional song whose the origin is not known.

Vusi Nova’s Manyan-Yan album has gone gold. This album by far, is one of his greatest projects.
One of his singles, As’phelelanga, is dedicated to all the musicians we’ve lost in the past reach high rotation on many radio stations. Whenever Vusi performs the song, it is always positively received.
He therefore took to social media to announce that his fourth album has been certified gold.

With an interview with the Citizen Vusi Nova was able to give more insight on his musical career and life.
He stated his love for music and he never had any other plan apart from doing music.
I’ve never had a plan B or C. For me it has always been music,” he says.
In primary school, answering the “what do you want to be when you grow up” question was always awkward for him as he told the teacher he wanted to make music.
“For some reason, other kids would laugh and that didn’t feel good because being different was scary as a child. But growing up, I realised music is my calling. I feel God put me on earth just to make music and I’m absolutely okay with that. I understand my purpose in life,” he says.
He also spoke on his new album,stating that:
This album has 12 tracks on it and it’s a continuation of my previous album. In the previous one, I was angry and sad because I had just broken up with someone I loved, and on this new album I’m updating my fans about where my headspace is now,” he says.
Vusi Nova is one of those people who has found it hard to move on from his previous relationship.
He talked about his single status and it was because he couldn’t help but compare prospective partners to his previous girlfriend.
“I am single right now. I had a person for a whole five years but we broke up. It’s hard to find someone else‚ especially when you are so used to a certain person. I just need to stop comparing people to my ex‚ because I think that’s my main issue.”
Although he is single, Vusi hates it as he believes life is meant to be shared.
“My ideal partner is someone beautiful. I know people always say we shouldn’t look at physical appearance‚ but I think that’s bull. I want an extremely beautiful person but most importantly‚ a goal driven person I can build with.”
Award winning musician Vusi Nova is focussed on leaving a mark in 2018, in terms of his career.
Speaking to Zalebs, Vusi also cleared the air around speculations that he was in a relationship with Kelly Khumalo.
“There are people who think that we are dating. She is a very good friend of mine. I’ve known her for a very long time. She’s been instrumental in my very first album cause she introduced me to my producer. I think that it’s sad that every time something happens to a celebrity in this country, they blame her. Even with Robbie Malinga people were attacking her. It’s ridiculous, she has nothing to do with this…”
Vusi went ahead to share what his current album Naninina, is about.
“I try to preach and share love with the world, and that’s why I do the kind of music that I do. My current album is actually about my relationship of five years that ended at the end. All the ups and downs, all the way to the breakup. There’s no one in my life right now.”
2018 is going to be a good year for Vusi. He is set to shoot his much anticipated DVD.
