Sauti Sol Loses Thousands Of YouTube Subscribers As Copyright Tiff With Azimio Continues

Famous musical group Sauti Sol have found themselves on the losing end following their tussle with Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, spearheaded by Raila Odinga. The genesis of their beef was a song copyright claim by Sauti Sol, who cried foul for the unconsented use of their hit song extravaganza. Sauti Sol were not pleased with their songe being used in the political arena, adding that they were disassociating themselves with any political endeavours.

“We would like to make it very clear to our fans, partners an associates, we are not aligned to nor associated with the Azimio La Umoja Campaign or any other Political movement and/or party their presidential aspirants, vice presidential aspirants and candidates at large. We are fully apolitical,” part of their statement read.

Upon seeing the issue going haywire, ODM party came to the rescue and sent their apology adding that they used the song because they ‘love and appreciate their music so much.’

Apology Not Accepted?

Sauti Sol seem dissatisfied with the apology. And they’re yet to settle the issue. They issued an advisory statement via their Instagram for their fans to make-out what was really in store for the copyright claim made by them.

Double Loss

But the ongoing scuffle between them has seen Sauti Sol lose 2k subscribers on their YouTube Channel in less than 48 hours. They’re down to 903K subs from 905K.
