Why Diamond’s collabo with Lil Wayne failed to materialize – Diamond’s manager Sallam SK explains

Just as the world was eagerly waiting for the baddest collabo between Diamond and Lil Wayne, it is no more.

Back in 2018, the East African star hinted on a collabo with American rapper, Lil Wayne and fans could not keep calm.

Days passed, months and now roughly a year since the promise was set and we have seen nothing. Not even a drop of hint that something is cooking.

The world went quiet about it and it eventually got blown away by the passing wind. Well, just Wednesday, his manager, Sallam SK, broke the silence on the long-awaited matter.

Unfortunately, Sallam cited that the collabo failed to materialize after Lil Wayne’s management declined to shoot the video.

While speaking to ‘Wasafi FM’, Sallam added that the two artists did record the audio and even took it through the entire process and was accepted.

However, the bone of contention came in the video shoot and WCB’s management decided to drop the collabo after its video shoot failed to take shape.

Nyimbo ilienda ikakubaliwa lakini katika makubaliano times ilikuwepo wao hawataweza ku-shoot video. At the moment tukaona kwa nini tunafanya project kubwa halafu haitakua na video, so we just deiced to skip it.

According to Sallam, Diamond is not one to just pick any artist to work with. First, how famous the artist is in Tanzania is important. Second, whether his home fans would accept him.
