Touching tribute

Dennis’ widow eulogized her husband in a touching tribute, she reminded her husband of the special things he did for her and how he was a perfect husband.

“My darling, my best friend, my ride or die, i would still say yes I do despite all this heartache and pain. Despite the short time we were together, you gave me a lifetime. You fought for me, you pranked me, you made my ribs hurt constantly in laughter. You listened, anticipated my needs and molded yourself to be just the perfect man for me. It has truly been the best time of my life, nothing made you more sad than knowing that i was not ok,” wrote the widow in part.

She also told her husband that she would do whatever they had planned doing together. The window said she would travel to all places they were to go together.

“I will keep at it my love, traveling to all the places we planned and I know your spirit is with me just as you told me the day before you left us. That I should stop looking for you because you were here with me.”

At least 21 people were killed when Al Shabaab gunmen stormed into DusitD2 hotel on January 15th and opened fire indiscriminately at anyone.

Cellulant Corporation, which operated from within the Dusit complex, lost 6 employees in the terror attack. Employees of the tech company spread out on 5th & 6th floors when gunfire and loud explosion were heard.

Some managed to leave the building using emergency exit. The terrorists noticed a group leaving and began shooting at the streams of people. They blocked any further exit from the building.

The brave 5

17 Cellulant employees were effectively pinned down inside Cavendish block when the terrorist blocked the exit. 6 sought refuge in a small room underneath the staircases on the first floor exit, whereas 11 others ran upstairs and sought refuge in washrooms.

The terrorists eventually caught up with the 6 who had hidden in a small room underneath the staircases. They spoke to them briefly, introduced themselves as Al Shabaab before shooting them dead.

One employee – a woman was miraculously unharmed, the five men who were hiding with her shielded her into the back corner behind them removing her from sight.

The five men who shielded the woman were – Denis Munene Mwaniki (29), Jeremiah Mathai Mbaria (31), John Wanyaga Ndiritu (29), Kelvin Kariuki Gitonga (28) and Wilfred Kareithi Waihura (23).

The sixth Cellulant employee – Ashford Kuria Maina (31) who died during the attack was killed earlier at fifth floor washroom before the terrorists killed the five who were hiding a small room underneath the staircases on the first floor.

A requiem mass for the 6 Cellulant employees killed in DusitD2 terror attack was held at Citam Valley Road in Nairobi on Tuesday January 22nd.

Man who mocked God after Dusit terror attack loses his lucrative job just days later

Harrison Mumia a man who has managed to anger Kenyans several times due to his beliefs, is now a position Kenyans have always wanted him to be in to see his reaction.

The Atheists in Kenya Society President, who has several times pissed of the better part of the country from insisting there’s no God, was recently fired from his job Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).

According to Mumia, his employment was terminated over a series of political tweets on his timeline.

“The bank’s attention has been drawn to your various postings in your twitter account @harrisonmumia in which you have made various postings with regard to certain events as specified here under.

“The issue of your statements has been the subject of past communication with the Bank…you were served with a Notice to Show Cause, why disciplinary action should not be taken against you.

“This was on grounds of disobedience and insubordination as was therein specified,” read part of the letter from CBK Director of Human Resources Terry Ng’ang’a.

Mocking God

His firing comes just a week after he shared a post on social media mocking God and those who asked for His help during Dusit D2 attack in Westlands.

“Am starting to think that prayers can’t resolve anything. Its just like ‘wishing for something to happen’. Many Kenyans pray for protection for themselves and country and yet from time to time incidents like this happen. It reminds me of that case of university students in Garissa who were killed as they prayed,” he said.

Some of the Tweets that got him in trouble include;

“I thought MP Alfred Keter was in Government. I thought yuko ndaani ndaani. Mbona anashikwa na his Government tena? As a Jubilee MP surely! Unless being in Government is a myth! To those who voted for Jubilee, Mko ndaani ya Government in what sense?”

“So Joshua Kuttuny is unhappy that Alfred Keter amewekwa ndani? But when Miguna is illegally deported, Kuttuny feels nothing? When David Ndii is illegally arrested, Kuttuny feels nothing? Orengo once said a bud Government eats its own people. Jubilee will fall soon!” read one tweet.

Celebrities

There were at least five celebrities at DusitD2 Hotel when it was ambushed by Al Shabab assailants. Gospel singer Willy Paul were among first people who escaped with their lives when explosions went off.

Eric Omondi is really really lucky to be alive, the comedian was shot at by the terrorists but luckily the bullet missed him. He had just picked a parcel at Red House office at Hanover building when the indiscriminate shooting started.

“I was to be the third person to be shot, I don’t know how I escaped the bullet. It is just God. I just started hearing gunshots, and then started seeing people running away raising their hands up and some were entering the bank to hide for their lives,” said Eric Omondi in an interview with the Star.

Churchill ‘Daniel Ndambuki’ was also at DusitD2 at the time of the terror attack. It seems the comedy king is still traumatized by the experience, he hasn’t spoken much about the incident.

Football journalist James Oduor popularly known as ‘Odu Cobra’ was also at DusitD2 hotel, he was among many people who took to social media to tweet after being trapped inside the complex.

Unfortunately Odu Cobra didn’t make it out alive, he was killed by the assailants. Several celebrities have taken to social media to mourn Odu’s death.
