Ghetto Radio cancels DJ Faxto interview after fan backlash

Ghetto Radio was forced to cancel a planned interview with Mugithi artist DJ Faxto after facing backlash from fans.

The radio station had announced that they would be hosting the artist on their morning show on August 18th, but many fans were unhappy with the decision.

Some fans felt that it was inappropriate to give DJ Faxto a platform, given that he had been accused of the murder of interior designer Jeff Mwathi. DJ Faxto was never charged with the crime, but he was still considered a suspect by many people.

Other fans were simply not interested in hearing from DJ Faxto. They felt that he was not a good role model and that his music was not appropriate for the radio station’s audience.

In the end, Ghetto Radio decided to cancel the interview in order to avoid further backlash from fans. The station issued a statement saying that they valued their listeners and that they came first.

DJ Faxto has not yet commented on the cancellation of the interview.

It is unclear whether DJ Faxto will ever be able to repair his public image. He has been accused of murder, and even though he was never charged, many people still believe that he is guilty. It is also possible that the cancellation of the interview will damage his career.

Only time will tell how this situation will play out.

Radio presenter Mbusi confesses he continued peddling marijuana even when he was employed at Ghetto Radio

Mbusi is a self-confessed former bhang peddler. The Ghetto radio presenter says he used to ply his trade around the Kenya National Theatre.

Mbusi reveals that circumstance forced him to sell weed. He told SDE that he was unemployed and had a wife and daughter who depended on him.

“It was not by choice. I had a pregnant wife and a daughter to feed. My daughter had just joined school and I had to pay fees. Rent for my mabati house also had to be paid. Kes 1, 500 rent is a lot of money when you don’t have a job and you are living in Korogocho slums,” said Mbusi.

Peddled weed while being an employee at Ghetto radio

Mbusi confess that he continued selling weed even when he was employed by Ghetto radio. The reggae enthusiast says he was first employed as a messenger and barely earned enough to survive.

“Being a messenger and peddler was hectic and I had to employ someone to help me supply the drugs. One roll was sold for Sh30 and for each roll that he sold, I gave him Sh10 commission. At the end of the month, I made close to Sh8, 000, which was peanuts. My life was in a mess and I was an unhappy man,” said Mbusi.

Mbusi reveals he only quit peddling marijuana when Maji Maji (Julius Owino) employed him as a presenter. He started earning enough to keep him afloat.

“Luckily, this was the same time that Maji Maji joined the station as manager. He loved the way I did traffic updates and asked me if I was interested in becoming a host. It was a dream come true. That is how the reggae show ‘Goteana’ was born.”
