Wendy Waeni’s former manager ‘Joe’ finally arrested

Gymnast Wendy Waeni’s former manager Joe Mwangi has finally been arrested just a few days after Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti issued a warrant of arrest against him.

This is after Joe Mwangi was said to be threatening Waeni’s mum, Magdalene Mbele and even went on to forge a letter pretending to be from a Cabinet Secretary threatening Waeni’s mum.

Through their official twitter page the DCI said;

“Mr Joseph Mwangi Nduta alias Joe is in our custody. He will be charged appropriately once necessary police process is complete. We thank everyone that shared information on his whereabouts,”

Joe’s arrest comes a few weeks after Wendy Waeni exposed exposed Joe him for misusing her money and refusing to be transparent with the amount she had been making.

Joe’s side of the story

Wendy’s former manager however claims that Waeni’s mum has been misusing the money on alcohol.

Ms Mbele on the other hand came out to brush off Joe’s accusations saying;

“I’m a staunch Christian, I have never had alcohol in my life, my daughter can attest to that. Joe Mwangi is a liar and a fraud that is why it was best fit that he no longer manages my daughter,”

She went on to add saying;

“He received money from politicians in the name of my daughter; he got Sh.140,000 from Raila Odinga and only gave me Sh.30,000,”

Emerging! ¨Mama Wendy ni mlevi mbaya sana¨ Joe Mwangi blames Wendy´s mum for her downfall

Kenya´s trending youngster conman, Joe Mwangi has been hit by a blow after accusations were filled against him concerning his untamed appetite to exploit young talents.

No Kenyan would defend nor believe him however many pleas he made or pieces of evidence he unveiled.

What is most heartbreaking is how he took advantage of a young girl´s talent so mercilessly, leaving them wallowing in poverty in Nairobi´s Huruma slums.

There is just no two ways about this!

Revelation

However, the now ex-manager to gymnast, Wendy Waeni now pins the blame on Wendy´s mom, Magdalene Syombua.

Speaking during Monday night´s Chipukeezy show, Joe Mwangi maintains that he is innocent and needs to clear his name urgently.

According to him, the problem started when he took away Wendy´s phone.

He recalls the day he accompanied Wendy and her mum to meet President Paul Kagame, who handed Ms Magdalene a whooping $5,000 (appr. Kshs 500,000) to start a business.

Kagame gave Mama Wendy Sh500, 000 cash on her hand then as manager, mama Wendy gave me Sh100, 000. Haikuwa story na kulipwa, it was just a token from the President.

Joe further denies having traveled the world with the young talent and his passport has only one stamp.

He further reveals that Wendy´s last performance was way over 2 years ago. Therefore, there can be no way he exploited the girl in the first place.

As an artiste you can only get paid when you perform, so the question is, when was the last time Wendy performed? The last time she performed is over two years ago.

This they agreed upon to allow Wendy to concentrate on her candidate class, Standard 8.

´Drunk´ mom

The ex-manager alleges that Wendy´s mum spent money that was meant for her Form 1 fees. Money that Joe gave her in December last year before the secondary-school January intake.

Surprisingly, Wendy reached out to Joe just 2 days to her expected reporting date claiming that her mum did not have any funds and she is running late for her admission.

Joe cites that Wendy´s mum is a drunkard and might have therefore spent the money on alcohol instead.

I remember ilikuwa December date 2, from my own pocket I gave Mama Wendy Sh100, 000 and I told her weka hii pesa ya mtoto anafaa kuingia shule January. The deadline for joining school was January 8 and on date 6, Wendy texted me on whatsapp, then she is like Joe naingia shule lini and I’m like fine nilipeana pesa mnaniuliza nini mambo ya shule. Then nikamuuliza hata tooth brush ya 20 bob hamjanunua kwa nini? She said mum alisema hana pesa lakini ni ulevi… ni mlevi mbaya sana.

He concludes that the public is faulting him for someone else´s blame and is therefore the scapegoat here.

Joe Mwangi reveals that he will openly share his side of the story and provide necessary evidence of the order of events.

The case is however currently in court undergoing further investigations.
