Thousands turn up for King Majuto’s burial (Photo)

Thousands of Tanzanian gathered at Kiruku, Tanga on August 10 to see comedian Mzee Majuto laid to rest.

Amri Athuman AKA Mzee Maji Moto, who has appeared in numerous Bongo films, passed away while undergoing treatment at Tanzania’s Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam on last week.

Maji Moto was suffering from a hernia and had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit due to his deteriorating condition until August 8 when he passed on. His burial was not only attended by locals but also top government officials who termed him a national hero.

Several celebs including Diamond Platnumz took to social media to mourn the legend, who has been a key pillar in Tanzanian movie industry. Majuto had been undergoing treatment for about a year before finally passed on.

President Magufuli visits comedian Mzee Majuto after he was hospitalized

Funny man Mzee Majuto was recently hospitalized after falling ill just recently. The comedian who is popularly known for his swahili movies was admitted at the Tumaini hospital in Dar es Salaam.

Though details about his health are scarce, it is reported that he is now in a stable condition. The president of Tanzania Magufuli on 31st visited the comedian at the hospital to see how he was fairing on.

The president who had gone to check on the patients at Tumaini hospital is said to have spent quite some time talking to the comedian. This left many impressed and of course congratulated the president for his golden heart.

Speaking to the press Mzee Majuto thanked the president for visiting him at the hospital.

He also went on appreciate the hospital for taking good care of him. Anyway, as for now the comedian’s health has been improving unlike last year.
