Government pathologist reveals what killed Ruth Matete’s husband

Autopsy reports indicate that the late Apewajoye succumbed due to complications resulting from the 60 percent burns he suffered following a gas explosion at their home.

Chief government pathologist, Dr Johansen Oduor added that the postmortem was led by a team of four pathologists and senior homicide detectives.

The examination took place on Thursday afternoon at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) mortuary in Nairobi.

Report

Dr Oduor divulged that the deceased suffered complications inclusive of sepsis and multiple organ failure resulting from the unfortunate incident on the 30th of March at their home.

He died because of burns, which were mixed degree burns estimated at 60 per cent. In burns, what kills are the complication that arise. In this case there was sepsis, multiple organ failure and all that.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) homicide detectives alongside Ms Matete’s lawyer, Robert Adanga, were present to witness the examination that lasted at least an hour, as from 3 pm.

Samples were collected by the detectives, for toxicology tests, as the Nation reports.

Ruth Matete, the government, Bellevue South Hospital and Jessy Mc Jessiey – Nigerian national who accused Ruth Matete of being a suspect in her hubby’s death – were represented by pathologists.

Burial

Despite getting over and done with the much-awaited postmortem results, the Kenyan gospel singer is however not free to go ahead and bury her late husband.

This is following a letter from the Nigerian embassy addressed to the DCI, requesting them to hold behind Belovedjohn’s body until the Nigerian government allows for its release.

The High Commission wishes to state that, after the postmortem, the burial should be put on hold until it is in receipt of such a directive from the Nigerian government, while the mission awaits the conclusion of the investigations.

Dispute

In that regard, Ruth Matete’s lawyer said that was unfair to do and would therefore formally meet with the embassy so that burial plans can proceed.

This is considering the embassy declined to give its pathology, saying it would rely on the government’s postmortem results.

We shall strongly communicate to the Nigerian embassy and strongly oppose the decision to hold the body at KNH. The embassy was duly informed to present a pathologist but it opted not to. It is therefore extremely unfair to withhold the body as my client needs to peacefully rest and mourn.

Lawyer Robert Odanga however expressed satisfaction with the postmortem results, urging all parties interested with the case to use facts before judging his client, Ruth.

We are satisfied with how the homicide department has handled the investigation and we shall support them in everything they may need.

Controversial video ‘exposes’ Ruth Matete and late Belovedjohn’s rocky marriage, lawyer Cliff Ombeta responds [watch]

A man claiming to be the late Pastor Beloved John’s friend and manager, Jesse McJeissy has called out singer, Ruth Matete for driving her husband to death.

Sunday, the 12th of April, Ruth Matete lost her husband after allegedly succumbing to burn injuries sustained following a gas explosion at their home in Athi River.

Darkness enveloped Kenyans soon after the news broke and went viral. However, controversial details about the Nigerian Pastor’s death are emerging.

Details

Mr Jesse recorded a 17-minute clip ‘exposing’ the terror in Ruth Matete and Pastor Belovedjohn’s marriage.

Belovedjohn’s marriage was never rosy. Ruth Matete you can tell the whole world the truth. You were very violent, you have stabbed him not once, not twice, not thrice.

The Nigerian man expressed sorrow over Belovedjohn’s untimely death – who can no longer reveal what exactly happened to him – as he now points fingers towards the TPF winner for allegedly killing her hubby.

Attesting:

The last time you tried to kill Belovedjohn, I was there in Athi River in Greatwall Gardens. You guys had a fight and you almost killed him.

Jesse went ahead to share a screenshot of his conversation with Ruth Matete on the 2nd of April when the gas explosion allegedly occurred, to serve as evidence.

Adding that Pastor John had several times tried to to fly back to Nigeria from Kenya, to see his daughter and son but was restrained by Ruth Matete.

According to Mr Jesse, the Kenyan singer has psychological issues which need to be addressed before they get further out of hand.

Lawyers

In the light of all this, Kenya’s top criminal lawyer, Cliff Ombeta trashed the claims as ones caused by ‘pain’ for not getting his dues.

According to the legal mind, it is evident that Ruth loved and cared for the father to her unborn child, even calling for help for her injured hubby.

I have listened to the clip. It is only full of lamentations. All his info is from unverified sources. John is seen in the hospital. Therefore was not abandoned. He was taken to hospital. Ruth rushed for help.

Attesting that the Jesse’s pains for not getting paid for services offered, are the basis of his tantrums.

The narrator is having beef for unpaid services for work done. He also has beef because Ruth never wanted John to go back to Nigeria to his other family.

Concluding:

All those instances were before the actual incident leading to his death. Were they reported or documented or are they just from a bitter friend? Nothing said in that clip is relevant unless it directly led to the death. Unless the postmortem proves otherwise and investigations. We need to leave Ruth alone to mourn. Those hearsay stories will not do any good. Wait for investigations and then say what you can.

Ruth Matete is already being prosecuted in the public court.
