AKA has been nominated in the Drama Queen of the Year category at the upcoming Feather Awards.
He has set his eyes on getting the prize.
“I’m nominated for drama queen of the year?? that’s awesome. I hope I win,” he wrote on Twitter.
The Feather Awards are aimed at celebrating the LGBTQI community by making them visible in mainstream media.
All we can say is may the best man win.
AKA announced that the Bean Group company, which he started with Prince Nyembe is closing its doors.
The rapper unexpectedly made the announcement on Monday, saying the company which was responsible for managing and representing him will no longer do that.
He then revealed that the company was in the process of shutting down.
“We started the company with the best of intentions unfortunately it’s just not working out for me the way I wanted it to … so I’m taking my ball and going to play elsewhere.”

AKA took to twitter to share his sentiments about brand using personalities for their marketing.
He claimed that most of this personalities don’t earn anything from the marketing they give the brands.
What a damn shame! These other brands will fly you half way around the world for you to take photos next to people who don’t care about you, instead of them giving you a slice of their business … what a scam.
Nicole Nyaba has reportedly confirmed that she and AKA were apparently in a relationship.
The socialite, who appears on the cover of Drum magazine, spilled the tea on how they were in love and were even living together.
“Kiernan is a nice guy. He is sweet. He opens doors for you, asks if you’re hungry and tells you how beautiful you are when you wake up in the morning. He was an amazing boyfriend. He was constantly making me fall in love with him,” she said.
Nicole said that everything was rosy between them until they had a fight during the weekend of the Durban July and that things changed after that.
She also revealed to the magazine that DJ Zinhle and AKA are allegedly back together, which she believes was the reason behind their split.
“I asked him if he was with Zinhle and he admitted it,” Nicole added.
For a long time, AKA and Nicole Nyaba denied rumors that they were together.
Nicole has however come clean, saying that they were in love and even lived together.

Nicole now says that DJ Zinhle and AKA are back together.
“I asked him if he was with Zinhle and he admitted it‚” she said during an interview with Drum magazine.
Just last week, DJ Zinhle squashed rumors that the two were dating, saying that AKA is just helping her with music.
AKA’s record label, Universal Music South Africa is involved in a lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed by a member of an 80s group, over a song he sampled.
The suit is over a song that AKA sang, One Time, which is claimed to be from a hit song, Party Weekend.
Musician Enos Thembinkosi Lubisi, has filed court papers stating he never gave AKA rights to his song.
He has thus asked the court to declare him the sole copyright-holder of the song, including AKA’s adaptation of it, stating that he had not assigned them any copyrights or permission to rework it.
AKA had earlier on acknowledged using some of the lyrics from Lubisi’s work. He went ahead to apologize to him, and wanted to credit the producer but struggled to locate him.
Lubisi has pleaded to the court to declare him the sole holder of the copyrights. For him, failure to do so will see him losing all rights to a company he never dealt with at any stage of his musical career.
The two do a good job at raising their daughter together, despite them being separated.

Kairo Forbes got to spend time with three generations of women in her family from her dad, AKA’s side.
AKA took his two-year-old daughter to Kimberley to meet her great-great grandmother who is turning a whopping, 105 years old tomorrow.
The rapper took to Instagram to share the precious moment between his daughter and his great grandmother.
In another snap, AKA showed four generations of women in his family.
“Kairo with her Grandmother, her Great Grandmother & her GREAT GREAT Grandmother. Praise the Lord,” he captioned the picture.

Days after announcing his latest album would be his last, AKA has bagged a major money deal that will see his name put on bottles.
He has made a Cruz Vodka deal and will have his own AKA branded range of alcohol.
The juice comes in watermelon flavour. It is currently being bottled for distribution.
AKA thus took to social media to post a video of the bottles in production, with a glimpse of its gold caps and pink and black branding.

Kwesta is returning to the prestigious SXSW music festival, and this time he is carrying AKA with him.
The two will perform at the Blast Live event in Austin, next weekend. They will perform alongside Talib Kweli.
A day after that event, AKA will also perform at the Sounds from Africa & the Caribbean show. This will be at the 800 Congress avenue.
Kwesta’s and AKA’s performances come only weeks after DJ Black Coffee performed at the Apollo Theatre in New York.
Black Coffee used his performance to encourage other South African artists to follow suit.
AKA’s upcoming album Touch My Blood, will be his last.
This was confirmed by his managers who said he wants to pursue other interests.

“Yup. This is it. This is his last album. He wants to do other things with his life beyond music. AKA is a father and a businessman. He has a company to run and he will be focusing on that and other projects. He will always be AKA and will dip in and out of music.”
Tshiamo Letswene, his manager revealed that Touch My Blood was coming along nicely, and should be released come May.
AKA started his solo career in music in 2009 and has risen since then. He has won various awards including Most Gifted Hip-Hop during the 7th annual Channel O Music Video Awards.
He has even managed to open for Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar, during their South African tours.
Even though AKA tried to convince Twitter that his heartbreak is real and that he’s also human, tweeps still showed him no sympathy.
A follower turned a picture of AKA into meme and poked fun over him being alone on Valentine’s Day.
AKA responded with a stinging clapback but that didn’t deter tweeps from poking fun at him.
Although the rapper had began the conversation around his love life with a vague tweep about love lost, he didn’t appreciate the tweep’s attempt to mock his pain.
He told the tweep that while he may spend Valentine’s Day alone, at least he still had money, and told the person that he would be poor for the rest of 2018.

AKA has been talking about his relationship with DJ Zinhle and Bonang Matheba.
Ever since he admitted he had cheated on Zinhle to be with Bonang, he became a topic of discussion.
While on Real Talk with Anele Mdoda, AKA admitted that the way he handled his split with Zinhle, wasn’t in the best way.
“The start of my relationship (with Bonang) was painful because at the time I was in a relationship with my baby mamma. And she was pregnant. And for me, what we put her through was wrong. And I’ve apologised for that. And I’m sorry for that. And maybe she (Bonang) will apologise for it one day as well.
“Zinhle was… is a great woman. A strong woman. A great mother. I was too stupid and too young to even recognise that and even see that. For me, it was never about taking joy. (His relationship with Bonang) We just found each other.”
In regard to his break up with Bonang, AKA says he is taking it a day at a time.
“There are some things I want to talk about, in terms of the insides of our relationship. But I would be less of a man if I said and explained everything. I’m taking it one day at a time. I got my daughter. I got my music. I got my friends. I got my health. I got my family. I got my money.”
Since AKA and Bonang Matheba’s alleged breakup in late 2017, the former couple’s fans are eager to see who they date next.
Some have even taken to social media to give Bonang dating advice.
Queen B’s fans say she is “too smart” to be dating men like AKA, and should stop dating famous guys altogether.
“Leave these high-profile boys and try and ordinary guy man. I can hook you up with my friend,” the Daily Sun quoted one fan as saying on Twitter.
But it seems Bonang is not interested in dating “ordinary men”. “I’m fine, thank you,” she replied.
Some fans believe Bonang is fine, because she hasn’t really broken up with AKA. One fan shared what appears to be a recent picture of AKA and Bonang.
The 30-year-old is wearing the same outfit she was seen wearing last week when she sign a top-secret deal at the Rust En Vrede Wine Estate.

It’s been a difficult start to the year for South African rapper AKA.
In a recently published video, Mr Forbes looks to be struggling as his attempt to crowd surf with his fans goes horribly wrong.
AKA ended 2017 on a sour note, as he went public with the news that he and his girlfriend of two years, Bonang Matheba, had split up.
In the first few days of 2018 he admitted to feeling a lot of “pain” (all while his ex is living her best life on social media), and judging by a video that surfaced on Twitter, it looks as if he’s not getting much joy from other areas of his life either.
The video seems to be going viral after having been shared by publications such as ZAlebs and Channel24, and it shows AKA diving into a crowd at one of his concerts. He might have expected them to catch him and allow him to surf the “wave” as it were, but things didn’t quite go according to plan.
The rapper was swallowed up by the mass of people who were meant to be supporting his body and besides looking completely off-script, it appears as if the situation could have presented a health hazard for both audience and performer. A security team quickly attended to the matter as they tried to ensure AKA’s safety.
Despite AKA and Bonang Matheba going their separate ways and wishing each other well, the rapper is still heartbroken over their breakup.
The power couple apparently called it quits on their on-off relationship AKA took to Twitter last week on Friday, December 29, to announce his breakup with his girlfriend of two years, Bonang.
It appears as if the decision to end the relationship was mutual, but AKA is evidently heartbroken by the breakup.
A Twitter user tweeted AKA saying he hoped he was not hurting. The rapper admitted he was still heartbroken, but reiterated he needed to move on from the relationship.
“I am, bro. But I gotta be strong. Show must go on,” he said.
AKA has called it quits in his relationship with Bonang Matheba. The two have been together for two years.
Announcing the news on Twitter, he said: “Myself and Bonang have decided to call it quits. I feel like I need to put this out there so we can both move on. I wish her all the best and I will always love her.”
Early this year, AKA made a similar announcement on Twitter, and later said it was all a PR stunt. He bought Bonang a R60,000 Gucci bag and apologised to her.
