Boity Thulo’s debut single Wuz Dat has received a nomination, barely four months in.
She has been nominated for an SA Hip-Hop Award in the Best Collaboration category.

Boity Thulo will be hosting the first ever Shemurai self-defense pop-up class this September. She will be doing this with Sensei Giorgie.
The classes are aimed at teaching women how to empower themselves.
“Self-defense for women is not about going blow-for-blow with a male aggressor. It’s about empowering yourself as a woman with skills that could buy you those extra few seconds that could save your life,” she captioned a promotional video of the Shemurai pop-up, which will take place at Sandton City rooftop.
The techniques learned, can therefore be applied in real life situations. They could help combat the scourge of gender-based violence in South Africa.

Boity Thulo has taken her time to invest in girls. She has joined the HER initiative, to support and empower them.
The HER initiative illustrates how the Global Fund amplifies and extends the impact of U.S. policy. Together with partners, the Global Fund has set a bold target to reduce the number of new HIV infections among adolescent girls and young women by 58% in 13 African countries over the next five years.
Taking to social media, Boity said she couldn’t be prouder to be part of such an initiative.
