HHP’s baby mama Lerato Khanye is laid to rest

Lerato Khanye was laid to rest at the Waterfall Cemetary in Midrand on Friday.

Khanye, who was a scriptwriter at Generations the Legacy succumbed to an illness after being admitted to the hospital two weeks ago.

HHP and Lerato had one son, Leano.

Sunday World reports that her funeral service was held at Alexan-Kopano Community Hall and was attended by friends, family and colleagues from Generations.

Among those colleagues was long-time Generations producer Mfundi Vundla who offered Leano some comforting words.

“To Leano, when people offer a hand of love and support, you should accept it. You are a result of great people; your father was a sterling musician and your mother was a sterling artist,” said Vundla.

Generations: The Legacy Speak On Lerato Khanye’s Death

Lerato Khanye, HHP’s ex-girlfriend was a script writer at Generations: The Legacy.

She died on Monday morning after a short illness that had left her hospitalized for a week.

At Generations: The Legacy, she helped conceptualise and develop storylines for the production.

“Lerato’s death and transition to the spirit world of the ancestors has left me emotionally devastated. Much loved by her colleagues‚ Lerato was imbued with a sharp magic intelligence. She was a central pillar of the Generations writing room‚” Mfundi said.

Lerato’s legacy will continue in the stories she left behind.

“When at the crossroads‚ our writing craft challenged‚ Lerato’s imagination and talent led us to narratives that entertained and enlightened our audience. Her stories had a transcendence that all good stories possess. You have left us Lerato but your stories remain to enrich and inspire television audiences.”

In a statement from her workmates, they said they would miss vibrant personality and unmatched work ethic. They went on to extend their condolences to Khanye’s friends and family.
