Bonang Matheba And Somizi Kiss And Make Up

If their last photo is to go by, then it is safe to say that Bonang Matheba and Somizi Mhlongo have reunited.

The two were at the Tropika Smooth Fan shoot in Cape Town, where they were evidently all smiles.

The question now is, have they reunited or was it just for work?

Somizi and Bonang had a fallout after Somizi is said to have told DJ Zinhle about AKA and Bonang’s affair.

Somizi later said he no longer wanted a relationship with Bonang.

Well, when it comes to relationships, never take any sides.

Somizi message to upcoming desginers

Somizi is well known for his bold looks ,which means he has had to Interact with lots of designers.

Speaking on his Metro FM Breakfast show with DJ Fresh on Tuesday Somizi said that he was amazed by the talent in SA but was concerned by the rise of designers who thought they were celebs.

“I spoke about it at the Durban Fashion Fair, South African designer’s work should speak for itself versus them pushing the face before their work. They want to be famous. I don’t want to know the designer’s face. I want to know the designer’s work.”

He also stated that designers need to understand that not everyone was meant to design couture. Instead they should look to work on everyday clothing to push their brand.

Somizi speaks on Bonang reality show

Somizi was asked  for his opinion on Being Bonang, Somizi said he thinks Bonang has learnt from her mistakes.

“I think she’s mature and old enough to have learnt her lessons in season one, and this is the time for her to rectify and fix those things, because I’m sure she didn’t have an idea or a concept of how reality [shows] work. So she had her own perceptions, but she realised now that reality has to be real. So I believe she’s gonna be more real.”

The choreographer, who has his own popular reality show, says that he is honestly rooting for Queen B:

“She’s got an amazing personality, we are going to love her. I’m rooting for her, honestly.”

Somizi Mhlongo relieved after launch of ‘How Long?’

Somizi Mhlongo has no one but playwright Gibson Kente to thank for his life. This is because his parents actually met in one of Kente’s productions and thus conceived him.

At the launch of How Long? Somizi told media how he felt he had come full circle.

How Long? had been banned  45 years ago because of its political undertones. Kente was also imprisoned.

The play, was a response to pressure from Black Consciousness movements that cultural work needed to reflect the conditions of the oppressed.

Relief

Somizi is now a relieved man.

“Some people may think theater in South Africa is dying. It hasn’t died, or is even attempting to be in a coma. We just need bums on seats.

“When I was asked to choreograph I was really honoured. This is where I was conceived. I have come full circle. For me it’s not just a pay cheque. It’s in my blood because of my parents, I had no choice really.”

He is hoping that The Playhouse will be inundated with bookings.

The cast includes well-known local stars Thembi Mtshali, Phindile Gwala and Khaya Dladla. The show runs from May 5 to 27.
