Victoria Kimani is agitated with local brands and event organizers, the sultry singer claims the two are ‘killing’ Kenyan music industry.

Victoria’s cry is not new in Kenya, local artists have long been grumbling about foreigners and foreign content dominating Kenyan entertainment scene.

The ‘Booty Bounce’ hit maker is particular infuriated by the fact that Kenyan artists play second fiddle at events hosted in the country because organizers prefer foreign artists to headline shows.

Victoria said she couldn’t settle for anything less than 200k to perform at an event where foreign musicians are paid 5 to 10 million shillings.

“Riding around Nairobi, seeing billboards on top of billboards of these shows, why are none of us headlining? Why does it have to be this way… year after year after year…. we constantly place every other country, city, town above our own, Not every artist has the opportunities That A few of us have to leave Kenya and be seen on stages with that wide Africa reach, what the hell would I do if I didn’t have those opportunities,,,, I’d sit here and either throw my own concert (coming soon) …. or wait to be some so called’ opening act for less than ksh200K … while we watch them make $50,000 – $100,000 right in our face! Why can’t we learn from Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa and many more and be as excited to see ourselves as we are others?! And then get mad and wanna call me Nigerian because I am blessed to be booked there from time to time…: wow guys…. This self hate we got has to change pretty soon or we will keep loosing gems like Lupita who many of you literally chased away, then get mad if she acts brand new on you when she’s back home 😂 mannn all I’m saying is book us now before you can no longer afford us. Brands too…. use your local faces ! Victoria Kimani has been seen enjoying nice time with her Nigerian boo in Johannesburg, the sultry singer had been rumored to be daring Harambee Stars’ captain Victor Wanyama.

In 2014, there were rumors that Victoria was dating Victor; the former come out to clear the air revealing that she was only friends with the UK-based footballer.

 

The sultry songstress finally unmasked the man in her life in 2016 during her exclusive birthday dinner at the Marion on Nicol Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg.

The Chocolate City singer is dating Stanley Obiamulu, a Nigerian media production mogul who is based in South Africa.

Victoria recently flew to the Rainbow nation to be with bae, the two lovebirds were seen enjoying quality time together at an entertainment hotspot in Joburg.

Victoria Kimani is among a few Kenyan artists who have managed to conquer the continent with their music. The songstress has shared her opinion in regard to collaborating with Kenyan musicians, and says she’s no longer excited with the idea.

Victoria Kimani is arguable the only Kenyan musician who has managed to penetrate Nigerian music industry with her songs; this partly because she’s signed to Nigeria’s Chocolate City.

The sultry singer has embarked on media tour in support of her new album dubbed “Safari”; it was during an interview that she revealed she was no longer excited about working with another Kenyan artist(s).

Victoria said that she had already worked with the Kenyan artists she was dying to collaborate with and that she doesn’t think she could achieve anything more with other musicians from the 254.

“I wanted to work with Wyre, and I did, I wanted to work with King Kaka and I did. At this moment, I can’t think of anyone that I’m dying to work with. In terms of Kenyan artiste, I think I have accomplished with all the people I have worked with,” she said.
