Flavia Tumusiime and Andrew kabuura Set weding Date

Alot of skepticism has been on about these two and we think now we can put all this rest. Flavia Tumusiime and Andrew Kabuura are making things Official. Yes, Matter of fact dates have been set and although a source has been elusive on the particular dates.

What we certain of isthat Falia will be officially introducing Kabuura to her parents in August and the wedding will be sometime in Jnauary next year when they cam clean on Kabuura’s Birthday. Last Month, the rumour mill went spinning that She had moved in with the boy and Although Flavia Talked tough when she was asked  to confirm, another reliable source says Flavia’s Rav 4 does indeed park at kabuura’s rented Apartment every night.

Although we know for a fact that the admirers of Kabuura will be left heart broken we are happy for the two.

IdI Amin’s son warns Feffe bussi about using His Father’s Name in his song

Rapper Feffe Bussi’s Who is Who had the Uganda’s hiphop scene ‘awakened’ after he dissed several acts. The effect? Several upstart rappers took advantage of the hype to steer their own careers.

To keep up to speed as ‘trend setter’, the rapper released yet another song titled ‘Idi Amin’.The trending song has got the attention of Idi Amin’s son, Hussein Lumumba Amin who  is doing a media tour in Uganda.

Hussein is so frustrated that Bussi had the audacity of equating himself to his father.

“I do not find it appropriate for some musicians to talk about my father. He did a lot for Uganda and I find it disrespectful using his name in songs,” Hussein said. Feffe Bussi, now what?

Jack Pemba Denies being part of the Viral Sex Video

Socialite Jack Pemba has come out to comment on the s*x video making rounds and it reminds us of a Shaggy song – It wasn’t me.

A girl whose face appears in the video identified as Honey Suleman confirmed she is the one and added that the man in the video is Jack Pemba. However, the face of the man in the video doesn’t appear and Pemba says it wasn’t him.

“I want to say in the strongest terms that I AM NOT the person in the video that is going around,” Pemba said.

He also dismissed the Facebook post of a certain “Jack Pemba” apologising for the video saying he is not on social media.

“I also want to say that I did not make any apology on Facebook as that is a fake account operated by impostors. I repeat – the Facebook account is fake and I am NOT the person in the sex video,” he told us.

Pemba was reluctant to talk about his issues with businessman Godfrey Kirumira.
“I’m a businessman, sports philanthropist and humanitarian. Most importantly though, I’m a husband and father. Because of my philanthropic activities and my social life I am aware that the media has taken a deep interest in my life.”

“There is currently a court case in which I am involved with a fellow businessman that has caught the media’s attention. The real background to that case is very different from what has been portrayed in the media.”

“I will not discuss the details because the case is currently in court and I am advised by my lawyers that such matters cannot be discussed in the public. I respect the Courts and will therefore wait until a decision comes from the Court before I can comment on that transaction,” said.

Pemba said he is currently out of the country on business and will return soon to clarify these issues.

Sheebah Snubs Artistes that Follow Bryan White As “Houseboys”

TNS singer Sheebah Karungi is set to release her latest song titled ‘Houseboy’ anytime soon. But after a listen-in to the new song, we can reliably envisage a resurrection of beef between Sheebah and some artistes as well as a possibility of new beef with other artistes.

In the song, Sheebah clearly refers to ‘houseboys of the podium!’ The word podium got traction and got attached to moneybags Bryan White after he appeared in a video humiliatingly commanding singer Weasel ‘never to leave the podium when he is still talking!’

Weasel, Big Eye join Bryan White on the ‘podium’ at a recent Bryan White Foundation function

Since then, the word podium has been widely used to refer to Bryan White and artistes or celebrities that have made it a job to hang around him. Some of the artistes on the podium include Weasel, DJ Michael, Pallaso, and now prodigal son to the podium- Jose Chameleone.

Weasel and Bryan White

And by referring to these singers as ‘houseboys of the podium,’ Sheebah should have envisaged she would be opening a can of worms. A few people that listened to the song, have predicted that it’s likely to resurrect of the beef between Sheebah and former ally turned enemy- Pallaso. There’s also a belief that the song is likely to rub other singers on the podium including Chameleone and Weasel the wrong way.

Grace Nakimera working on a big return to The Music Industry

After disappearing from the music scene for some years, Grace Nakimera has promised to return with a bang. Grace told one of our snoops she had taken a break to concentrate on building her business empire, and that during the break, she was able to set up a five-acre farm in Mukono where she commercially grows trees and rears livestock.

Grace also told us she was able to set up a couple of rentals in Namugongo, Seeta and Mukono. The former star singer also told our snoop that she needed the break to clear her mind and rescue her marriage.

Grace’s marriage to Norwegian photographer Andre Ringen had been on the rocks for the better part of the time that she was a star. In 2015, it was reported that Andre had decided to end their almost decade long relationship.

It was around the same time that Grace withdrew from active singing and she has since been off the scene. Grace told our snoop she was able to fix her marriage and they are happy again, and that she will be bouncing back with a few songs this year; “I’m going to release a few songs this year and I know by the end of the year, my fans will be very proud of me,” she said. All the best Grace.

Pemba fires back on why he didn’t pay debt

Socialite Jack Pemba has come out to address his issues with businessman Godfrey Kirumira whom he owed $200,000 (about Shs720m) and he says it has nothing to do with not having money to pay him.

Court last week issued an arrest warrant for the self styled moneybags Jack Pemba after Kirumira demanded that he pays back $300,000 (about Shs1 billion).

Pemba’s Range Rover.

Pemba admits that he borrowed $200,000 from Kirumira and gave him his three prized cars jointly valued at over Shs1.2 billion as security.

The cars included a Range Rover with customized license plates ONLY 1 JP, which Pemba says was valued at $140,000 (about Shs513m), a brand new 2017 Landcruiser ZX 2017 model on which Pemba had spent $175,000 (about Shs642m) and a Hummer H3 valued at $35,000 (about Shs128m).

Pemba says the cars were supposed to be parked in safe custody but Kirumira unfortunately drove his cars and also gave them to his children to drive.

“They depreciated in value, and that really annoyed me,” Pemba said.

It’s on record as tabloid reported late last year that Kirumira was seen driving Pemba’s “ONLY 1 JP” Range Rover to the Pearl of Africa Hotel. When Pemba read the news, he was very cross because Kirumira hadn’t stuck to the agreement.

The Landrcruiser with the Mr Pemba licence plate.

Apparently, he signed a sale agreement meaning that Kirumira had the liberty to sell the cars in case Pemba didn’t pay up.

Pemba says because Kirumira had driven the cars and their value depreciated, he had made up his mind to sell them and repay Kirumira, something that Kirumira refused.

Sources also told us that Kirumira became very angry after he realized that Pemba had bought a brand new Lexus valued at over Shs620m and he flew in Congolese star Koffi Olomidde to perform at his wife Sheebah Kassami’s birthday party at the Sheraton Hotel where he blew more than Shs100m.

Kirumira with Koffi Olomidde at Pemba’s birthday at Speke Resort Munyonyo last year.

A cross Kirumira run to court to compel Pemba to repay him, but Pemba wonders why his cars that were supposed to be kept as security were driven.

Pemba adds that Kirumira also rented out the cars to weddings and crashed the Landcruiser.

Since the agreement between Pemba and Kirumira was a sales agreement, Pemba says the option Kirumira had was to sell the cars instead of running to court.

Wema Sepetu reveals how she lost her pregnancy

Diamond’s ex Wema Sepetu, who was accused of causing Zari- Diamond separation, has  disclosed how she lost her pregnancy three months ago. The Tanzanian beauty has struggled to get a child since she was 23-years-old.
Wema emotionally divulged how she lost her two-month-old pregnancy barely three months ago. In a heart wrenching narration, the film star revealed how she endeavoured to keep the pregnancy including fasting severally and even keeping vigil at night to pray.
“I have struggled so much. I don’t have the words. I have fasted several times and woken up dead in the night to keep vigil and pray,” she said.
The voluptuous model revealed she has now decided to appreciate and love other people’s children. Twenty-nine-year-old Wema, who has never shied away from sharing her her struggle trying to get a child, divulged she has been trying to get a baby since she was 23.
She revealed her plans to open two shopping malls for selling kids’ clothes exclusively due to her love for children.
Because I love children and I’m yet to get one, I intend to open two big shops to sell kids clothes which will be named Little Sweetheart and I’m at the final stages,” she said.
She refuted claims she was carrying Diamond’s child clarifying it was somebody else’s.

Royal Birth traditions you wont believe

Prince William and his wife Kate may present themselves as modern parents but their third child will still be a senior royal as the fifth in line to the throne, and certain traditions must be respected.

– Once, the home secretary, Britain’s interior minister, would have been expected to witness births of potential heirs. Fortunately for Kate this tradition ended with the birth of the queen’s cousin, Princess Alexandra, in 1936.

– William was on hand for the first and second babies, and is making no exception for the third. Queen Victoria’s husband prince Albert; their son, the future king Edward VII, and William’s father Prince Charles all witnessed their wives giving birth.

– Queen Elizabeth II, senior royals and Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, are expected to be the first to be informed of the birth.

– It will be made public in a tweet from Kensington Palace, Kate and William’s official residence in London, and in the traditional way, with a proclamation signed by royal doctors displayed on an ornate easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

– Cannon will be fired across London in celebration and the Union Flag will be flown from government buildings across Britain. The traditional 21-round gun salute has 20 more rounds if fired from a royal park or palace, and a further 21 from the Tower of London because of its location in the City of London.

– All births in England and Wales, regardless of parentage, must be registered within 42 days at the hospital or a local register office.

– Home Secretary Amber Rudd will notify the Lord Mayor of London, while the queen’s private secretary informs her governor-generals, her representatives in the 15 other Commonwealth realms where she is head of state.

– The baby’s name may not be revealed right away: William’s name was not announced for a week, while the world had to wait one month after his father Charles was born. George and Charlotte were named two days after their birth.

– The new baby will be a prince or princess of Cambridge and enjoy the prefix title of his or her royal highness (HRH).

 LACY CHRISTENING GOWN

– The prince will be christened as a member of the Church of England, wearing a replica of the intricate lace and satin gown made for queen Victoria’s eldest daughter in 1841. Sixty-two royal babies wore the original.

– Charlotte was the seventh baby to wear the new robe, which like the original has a long skirt and elaborate collars and bow.

– George was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace, with water from the River Jordan poured into the traditional silver Lily Font. Charlotte was christened in the same way at St Mary Magdalene Church at Sandringham, her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s country estate in Norfolk, eastern England.

– Royal babies usually have around six godparents, people who agree to support the child, particularly in their faith. George has seven, while Charlotte has five.

Jack Pemba Wanted for 1 billion unpaid debt

Kampala Commercial High Court has issued an arrest warrant for city socialite Jack Pemba. The issued warrant signed by the court’s acting registrar Festo  Nsenga, indicates that there is proof to the satisfaction of the court that Pemba is about to leave the country without settling matters between him and businessman Godfrey Kirumira. Kirumira demands Pemba over Shs1b ($300,000).

“Upon his non -appearance before this honourable court after having been duly served with a notice to show cause why he should not furnish security for his appearance,” says the court in an order addressed to Mutesasira associates and court bailiffs.

“These are to command you to arrest Pemba unless he deposits $300,000 (shs1b) with court or furnish some other sufficient security to satisfy Kirumira’s claim to guarantee his appearance,” the address adds.

Eddy Kenzo named new Tourism Ambassador

Eddy Kenzo yesterday scooped another ambassadorial appointment as he was named the new ambassador for tourism in Uganda.

“As we all know east or west home is the best, today we embark on a new journey as I sign as the Uganda Tourism ambassador. I’ll work hand in hand with all tourism departments to promote our tourist attractions, and I’ll continue flying the Uganda flag so high with God grace and mercy. Thank you MY UGANDA,” Kenzo posted on his official social media platforms.

Kenzo previously served as Kenya’s tourism ambassador.

The evolution Of Hip Hop in Uganda

The smallest rapper in Uganda dared to ask the musical question; “Who is Who?” Fefe Bussi self-appraised himself as the king of Lugaflow.

Not more than a week later, the whole country was surfing the wave, it was reply after reply. All of a sudden, Hiphop was once again on the lips of Ugandans. Had Feffe Bussi saved Hip hop from the jaws of death? Did he anticipate these many musical replies?

The story behind the song
“I was listening to Hip hop songs of various artistes like Nas and I realised Hip hop here was fading. I took up one of those old hardcore Nas beats (Hate Me Now) and decided to use it as an inspiration for the young rappers,” Bussi explains. “I never saw it coming. My humble intention was simply to bring back Hip hop, all I cared about was Hip hop in Uganda and spark the brains of these rappers,” he explains.
In the song, many did not survive the jibes from Feffe. These victims included Victor Kamenyo, Fik Fameica aka Fake Rapper and Gravity Omutujju. In an instant, there was a wave of replies coming in from all angles, from the known to the unknown, the discovered to the undiscovered, mainstream to the background rappers. It was now left for the audience to make their choice.

But what is Hip hop? What is Hip hop culture? And what defines this culture? How did it evolve in Uganda? Where is it now? And where is it going?

GNL Zamba. FILE PHOTO

Hip hop in Uganda
Off the album Alone and Frightened by Philly Bongole Lutaaya (RIP), many note Nakazaana as the first Ugandan rap song – at least many Hip hop artistes claim to have borrowed their inspiration from this track. Yet Hip hop did not break through in Uganda until the 90s, and it did not get commercialised until the millennium age set in.
A story is often told of how the late Kasiwukira tried to get one of the first Ugandan Hip hop artistes, Dlux Ibraw to sell him his album, an idea Ibraw rejected. Braw had formed the Young Vibez group and together had packaged the first Ugandan Hip hop album, The Spirit of Uganda, with an inspiration from the Uganda war gin.
Having had his proposal rejected, Kasiwukira would go on to illegally duplicate this album and sell off the tapes. In a reactionary mode, Young Vibez would retaliate by freely giving out their album to every concert they appeared at. To them, Hip hop was a culture and not a tool to be commercialised.
Around the same time, the Kiswahili word Lugha Flow was coined on the suggestion of Afrigo Band’s Amigo Wawawa to signify a style of rap that is performed in different languages.
Years later, many would take ‘Lugha’ to mean ‘Luga flow’ aka rap done in the Luganda language. Other regions jumped onto the bus, naming their own flows after their languages that is; Luso Flow for the Lusoga, Kiga flow for the Rukiga and many others.

Names that defined Hip hop eras
A culture is defined by its names, the history of an age is the history of its greatest men and women. The history of Hip hop in Uganda rests on the backs of those men and women who dared to dive where no other had dared before.
The 90s had the likes of Lumix Da Don, the rapper from Lumumba Hall who brought his Makerere mates under the umbrella of Snag’O. There was the mighty duo of Sylvester and Abrams aka Sylvester Kabombo and Abraham Tekya. In the league of the duos was the teenage rap duo of Prim N’ Propa (Lillian Kelle Butele and Brenda Z’Obbo). To their awesomeness, they had the great producer, Peter Ssematimba who also played the role of manager.
The 90s also had the Bataka Squad that comprised Saba Saba (Krazy Native), Babaluku, and Big Poppa Momo MC. These would combine in the early 2000s with other Hip hop luminaries to found the Ugandan Hiphop Foundation.
In his Ani Yali Amanyi cover, GNL Zamba speaks profoundly of the memories at DV8. For DV8 was to be home to many Ugandan Hip hop artistes. It is here that Klear Kut found its first stage, later on going to get a Kora Awards nomination. Other rappers too would go on to battle from here. Places such as Sabrinas Pub and Sharing Youth Centre in Nsambya became the grounds on which many freestyled and tried to break out into an already hard to enter music industry.

Fil Fameica, a youthful artitist

Hiphop goes mainstream

With Klear Kut getting the nods at the Kora Awards, it was now clear there was no going back. The Ugandan audience was ready to embrace Hip hop. Despite all this, Klear Kut did not fully cut through considering that their popular hit song had been performed with French verses.
It was Rocky Giant who would take on the Joshua role, releasing songs such as Ngoma Nene, Tekaliyo and Paka Last that enchanted crowds and since then became main speak in Uganda, being adopted by a Telecom company for one of its packages. In this spree, there had been Red Banton with his Nonya Money. Banton had been inspired by Busta Ryhmes.
But the biggest of all blasts into the commercial side of Hip hop came with GNL Zamba’s Soda Jinjale. It was a song that ruled the Ugandan airwaves. The adults sang along just as the young. Hip hop, for many had arrived to its final destination. Baboon Forest Entertainment would later on be formed and out of the forest came Mun G, another maestro that found himself into the hearts of many musical fans.
Yet as Hip hop went mainstream, as rappers began to earn off their sweat, many believe they had drifted from the original purpose of Hip hop. In the words of Malema, they had sold out, not just their souls, but the soul of the culture. All that was left was for someone to give a signal. That signal has since then become ‘Who is Who’, giving a resurrection to the conversations about Hip hop, its past, its present and its future.

The state of Hip hop

“This is a voice that has been fought against in the past and has been limited to resource and access due to the negative stereotypes of the culture,” Babaluku explains.
“The fact that it is rising and giving young people the confidence to build, lead and educate themselves first then go on to teach and rebuild their communities is one fact that proves that young people through HipHop culture are reconnecting back to their source and are becoming contributors to the transformation they want to see in their communities and the world.”
Babaluku is not one to buy into the ‘cheap popularity’ that is ‘Who is Who’. “People should know that Who is Who is all but a cheap rap battle being overrated and it sure does not at all represent the values of the entirety of the Hip hop fraternity. Ugandan Hip hoppers have a tendency of using songs to claim their relevance to the culture. But Hip hop culture is way beyond a song, more so a battle track. So you cannot claim that it is resurrecting Hip hop. Hip hop culture is always here and will always be. What you can say is that it is giving a platform to those who had left the game to test their strength. But it is nowhere close to be rated for an awakening of any sort,” Babaluku opinionates.
As such, Babaluku would rather the industry considers ‘Who is Who’ as a fleeting moment of hype.
“What people do not know about Hip hop is that it is our last voice as Black people. It carries the spiritual power of our ancestral expressions through many forms or elements of artistic expression,” he explains. “Hip hop is a voice designed for liberation and unification of our people. One voice that has awakened the youth to reconnect, preserve and archive our ancestral dialects and rituals plus values such as self-reliance and community building,” he continues. “Here in Uganda, this is what we call Lugha Flow, the translation of Hip hop in our authentic indigenous Hip hop voices.”

It is not a question that can be answered in a song, it is a question that can only be answered over the ages.

Angella Katatumba Beaten and Robbed at chicken Tonight

Even after watching the full video clip from the CCTV cameras at Chicken Tonight in Muyenga which showed that Angella Katatumba and Jamaican Singer Kuzi Kz started all the trouble that led to the fight in Chicken Tonight last week, Court has decided to remand to Luzira prison the three employees of Chicken Tonight-Kabalagala branch who included the manager, waiter and the night watchman. Rogers Olubrwoth Choka (manager), Denis Okirot (watchman) and John Kadu (waiter) were earlier on Friday sent to Luzira Prisons by the Makindye Chief Magistrate, Elias Kakooza after being charged with assault and theft of Shs6.2million.

The suspects in the ho.ding cells at Makindye court on April 20, 2018.

During that night, the video shows the three men beat and push both Angella and Kuzi outside. Then in a shocking turn of events, the watchman pushed Angella down, mercilessly kicked her when she was on the floor and as she tried to stumble and help herself up, the watchman further grabbed a dustbin full of garbage and hit her on the face, throwing her. She reportedly hit her head hard on the ground and passed out.

BebeCool in new Project with Charly Na Nina

Rwandan singing duo, Charly na Nina, became a household name after they collaborated with Ugandan singer,  Geosteady on a hit “Owooma”.

The song rocked airwaves and topped charts both in Uganda and Rwanda.

The latest is that the duo has finalised a project with the Gagamel boss, Bebe Cool and the song tittled ” I do” is set to be released on Tuesday 24th April 2018.

Bebe Cool’s managers and he said, “This is just the start, it’s one of the many songs  that are going to be released this year.  We are confident the fans will love this one and I can assure you, you will get it first as soon as it’s released on Tuesday”.

Leila Kayondo too high on Drugs to perform New Song

Struggling singer, Leila Kayondo is signed to a Nigerian Record Label, Striker Entertainment which is rumoured to have connections to the people selling cocaine in Uganda.

Now news reaching our desk indicates that the singer could have fallen victim of the drugs that have seen the likes of presenter Dave Dash and stylist Zziwa end up in rehab in the recent past.

While appearing on NBS during Katch Up show hosted by Douglas Lwanga, Mc Isaac and Anitah Fabiola, Leila failed to hold a five-minute interview with  Fabiola as she was seen doing nasty things live TV.

Leila Kayondo,  who was supposed to perform for her fans could hardly lift her tongue to speak something that forced her to chew her own lyrics as she staggered all over the stage while dancing in a crazy way.

She failed to sing her brand new song titled “Musaayi” which she was premiering on the show. At first, it sounded like the microphone was faulty but even when it was fixed,  there was literally nothing coming out. This sent the crowd into loud booing.

It was getting too much for her until Fabiola rescued her from the stage before climaxing her performance to save her from further embarrassment.

Moles at NBS say she was so high on alcohol and drugs that she was seen tripping over and over as her friends tried to help her get into the car.

Drugs use and addiction has been on a rise among Ugandan artistes.

Many have destroyed their careers and they are seriously grassing.
