Baby Samantha Pendo Oloo was finally laid to rest in Siaya County over the past weekend. The deceased was among people who lost their lives following the release of 2017 disputed election.

Baby Samantha Pendo made headlines when her plight was illuminated by the media, the 6-old-month baby was clobbered by police at the height of post election violence in Kisumu.

A requiem mass for Samantha was held on Friday August 25th at St Joseph’s Catholic Church Milimani, Kisumu. The mass was attended by Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong’o and Senator Fred Outa.

Nyong’o had earlier directed 11 million out of the proposed 12 million inauguration budget to be used to help cover medical bills for those that got hurt during the demonstrations that took place after the elections.

The remains of Samantha were transported to her father’s home in Konjira village, Siaya County after the requiem mass in Kisumu.

Friends, relatives and politicians were among those that attended the burial on Saturday, all those who spoke at the burial called for justice for the deceased and her family.
