Revered Benga musician, Lady Maureen hit the headlines after her ailment took a toll on her but she has now been discharged but with no place to call home.
Real names, Maureen Achieng´ Otiu, was discharged from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital on Saturday, the 20th of February after her condition stabilized.
Maureen´s mother has refused to take in her daughter, as Ms Nancy Achieng´ – who has been taking care of the singer in hospital – revealed.
Sharing this with the Nation on Tuesday, Nancy revealed that pending family misunderstandings have rendered the musician homeless.
The mother has barred me from taking the singer to her place due to an unresolved issue.
When Akothee sought someone to take care of the Benga musician, Nancy took up the task.
However, it is proving tough on Nancy, especially due to financial constraints.
My plan was to get Lady Maureen a rental house and someone to look after her but the funds are insufficient.
Lady Maureen´s health became alarming roughly two years ago when she was admitted at St Francis Community hospital in Kasarani. She was diagnosed with hypertension.
She was later admitted to Pastor Machage Memorial Hospital in Migori. Before being moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital where she has been discharged.
Nancy´s plea to well-wishers is for assistance with the Ohangla singer.
