Rudi swimming brathee! Reactions as Kenyan Olympic swimmer Jason Dunford drops rap song

Two-time Kenyan Olympic swimmer and country’s flag bearer at the 2012 Olympic Games Jason Dunford is a retired swimmer. Now, he’s focusing on other things…like rapping.

The 32-year-old is now a Genge artist and has teamed up with yet another foreigner, “Romantico”, a Mexican missionary, for his new song dubbed “Mbaya”.

No skills

And just like the name of the song, Dunford first song, unlike his fish-like water skills, has failed to impress Kenyans.

Going by the stage Samaki Mkuu, many were quick to shoot down the song saying it was poor quality but since it was his first, some gave him a pass and wished him all the best in his new hustle.

According to Dunford, he and Romantico met by chance, and the latter invited the former to feature on the song. Dunford protested that he had no musical skills, but Romantico persisted and “Samaki Mkuu”(Dunford’s stage name) was born.
