Taxi driver filmed beating up a cop is finally arrested

A video of a taxi driver battling with a police office in a cab made headlines on Thursday after emerging on social media.

The video however did not reveal as to why the taxi driver opted to fight with a law enforcement officer and now word has it that he has been arrested.

The driver identified as 41-year-old David Kariuki Kamurwa was arrested at Gikambura in Kikuyu area on Thursday, 25th July by Karen Police officers who had issued his arrest warrant.

A police report released by Karen police station stated;

“Officers from DCI Karen managed to recover the motor vehicle registration No. KCT 730Q make Nissan March at Gikambura within kikuyu area.”

Court date

Mr David Kariuki will however be arraigned in court today for robbery with violence after they recovered a phone belonging to police officer, Vincent Muhia who he had fought in his car.

 “one mobile phone make Oppo A7 which had earlier been robbed from NO. 111451 PC Vincent Muhia when he was struck and injured on the head by the assailant using motor vehicles jack.”
