Former NTV News Anchor Dies From COVID-19 Complications

Kenya is mourning once again, this time, the death of former NTV news anchor Winnie Mukami. The anchor has passed away on Thursday, 18th of 2020 due to COVID-19 related complications.

Mukami left NTV in 2010 after working with them for seven years. She recently served as a board member at Kenya Pipeline.

She became known in 2003 when she anchored NTV News during its launch.

The death of Mukami comes two days after Royal Media Services journalist Robin Njogu also succumbed to the disease. This also happens just hours after the death of Tanzanian president John Magufuli. Her workmates and friends have since paid tribute to her;

Silas Chepkeres wrote,
”I am terribly saddened at the passing on of my friend Winnie Mukami, fmr NTV anchor & KPC Board Member. Over the past 2yrs, I came to know her as a true patriot who on the background, loved and served her country with dedication. Winnie yearned for a united Kenya. Rest well, WM.”
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
