The highly anticipated new season will premiere worldwide, exclusively on Netflix, with part 1 releasing on May 16 and part 2 on June 13.

Matubia made a striking appearance in a burgundy ensemble that embraced the evening’s theme of ‘Regency Era Splendor: Into the Spotlight’. However, despite the theme, Matubia’s outfit stirred controversy among her followers, particularly regarding its fit around her bust area.

In response, Matubia broke her silence, defending her choice and asserting that it reflects evolving fashion trends and contemporary sensibilities.

Matubia’s stylist, Nelly Mulandi, also supported the creation, emphasizing that every aspect of the outfit was meticulously planned and flawlessly executed.

The reactions to Matubia’s outfit varied among her followers. Some, like Mary Kassy, drew parallels to the attire seen in ‘Bridgerton’, suggesting that the criticism was unwarranted. Others, like Lydia Muna, expressed concern about the fit of the outfit.

Among the attendees were LA-based Kenyan model and comedian Elsa Majimbo, acclaimed film star Catherine (Kate Actress) Kamau, NTV’s Amina Abdi Rabar, and established actors Manasseh Nyagah and Jackie Matubia.

Nairobi’s top celebrity stylists, Brian Babu and Lady Mandy, were also present, having styled several attendees. The bespoke outfits worn by Kate, Amina, Manasseh, and Jackie were all designed by Kenyan designers.

The event, themed ‘Regency Era Splendor: Into The Spotlight’, brought together Africa’s brightest stars, with special guest Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Agatha Danbury in ‘Bridgerton’. It featured world-class entertainment, including performances by South African group Beyond Vocals Acapella and Grammy-nominated artist Musa Keys.
