“Dad I wish I could turn back the hands of time” Daddy Owen celebrates his late father in emotional post

Daddy Owen and Rufftone’s father succumbed to cardiac arrest on Saturday October 7th. The deceased passed on at his home in Kakamega County.

The gospel singer explained that his father Josephat Mwatia collapsed and died after having dinner. He had earlier complained of chest pains before he passed on.

Daddy Owen has written an emotional eulogy to his father. The singer revealed how his deceased dad paid a vital role in his life including giving him the name ‘Daddy’.

Owen says he still misses his jokes and advice. He further says that his passion for music and football was influenced by his dad.

“Dad.. I wish I could turn back the hands of time.. I will forever miss u.. I miss your jokes already.. your advice.. many call me “Daddy” because it’s a stage name but to u that’s what u called me when I was a baby and that’s the name u used always..my passion for music and football was influenced by u dad…thrs so much i wanted to achieve in life just to show u that i learnt from the best and just to make u proud as your son..thrs more that i want to say but i am too emotional to write..I promise u i will do my best in life to make the name MWATIA a great name! i miss u “Fathe” .. LALA SALAMA MZEE MWATIA,” wrote Daddy Owen.

 

Rufftone and Daddy Owen release details of their late dad’s funeral

The Family of Mwatiai is mourning the loss of their dad as revealed by his son’s who happen to be top gospel artists in the country.

From what the said is that their father suffered a heart attack after dining with their mother on Saturday evening and even before they could perform some first aid, Mzee Josephat Mwatia did not make it.

At the moment they are making plans for his burial and speaking to Pulse the two gospel artists revealed that their father will be laid to rest at their home in Eshisiru in Kakamega next weekend. Rufftone said,

“It is of course a very trying time for us as a family but God has given us grace. We are standing strong,”

Daddy Owen who is Rufftone’s younger brother also had this to say about his dad…

“Our dad was having a normal evening with our mum at home and at some point, he excused himself to go to the toilet. Suddenly, he fell down and when our mother rushed there, he complained of chest pain. In a matter of seconds, he was dead,”

He went on to add that his father will be laid to rest on October 21st after they had a successful fundraising at Nairobi Pentecostal Church. He said,

“The burial will take place next Saturday (October 21) and preparations are on. We will be travelling to Kakamega next week to get all that ready,” he noted.

Celebrities and Kenyans likewise have been sending their condolences to gospel singers Daddy Owen and his brother Rufftone who lost their father.

Josephat Mwatia (Rufftone and Daddy Owen’s father) passed on last Saturday night October 7th at his rural home in Kakamega County.

The deceased succumbed to cardiac arrest; Daddy Owen explained that his father had just had dinner when he started complaining of chest pains.

“He was very ok, he had just had dinner with my mother and he excused himself to go to the toilet and the next thing my mother heard him fall. She went to check and found my father on the floor complaining of chest pains and a few seconds later he died,” Daddy Owen said.

Funeral arrangements are underway for the final send-off of Rufftone and Daddy Owen’s father at their rural home. Thanksgiving service will be held at NPC Valley Road on Thursday 12th October, a statement from the family confirmed.

“It is with sadness to inform you that we lost our dad on Saturday night due to a sudden cardiac arrest at our rural home. We will hold a thanksgiving service this Thursday at NPC Valley Road from 5 pm to 7 pm.”

“You are the perfect gift from God” Daddy Owen’s beautiful message to his wife on their first wedding anniversary

Daddy Owen this past weekend shared a never-before-seen photo from his wedding in honor of his first anniversary of being married to the love of his life, Farida. The couple were married April 2nd, 2016 at a low profiled wedding that only saw friends and family attend.
