Citizen TV’s reporter who was roughed up by NASA supporters in mourning

Francis Gachuri, a politics reporter from Citizen TV is mourning the 4th time this year. The popular reporter made the announcement through his social media pages shortly after losing his aunt, Nancy Ngonyo Kamundi.

According to the reporter, his Aunty passed on in a road accident making her the 4th family member to leave them in 2017. He wrote saying;

“Our family mourns for the 4th time since May 2017. Another road accident. Another precious life lost. Rest well auntie Nancy Ngonyo Kamundi. We mourn you.”

Close friends and relatives have joined in through comments to send their condolences to Francis and his family during this trying time.

Francis Gichuri roughed up at Wiper Party offices

The journalist gained fame back in August after a group of Nasa supporters attacked him in broad daylight. Accept o reports, this is because he was representing a station that the party was not in good terms with.

However, thanks to the MP’s and journalists who were available Gichuri walked out unharmed.

Francis Gichuri who is a news reporter at Citizen TV had a hard time a few hours ago after some few Nasa supporters decided to kick him out of Wiper Headquarters located along Othaya Road, Nairobi where he had gone to cover a press conference called by the opposition party.

From the stories making rounds on social media, Francis Gachuri was attacked by some Nasa supporters who were present for the briefing as they apparently did not want any journalists from Citizen TV at the area.

The video shared by K24 shows the reporter trying to escape from the people who can be heard shouting ‘aende’. Francis Gichuri however got help from some politicians who took him to a safe area to prevent the worst from happening.
