Vanessa Mdee speaks out for the first time after being released
Singer Vanessa Mdee was released yesterday on bail after spending 5 days in police custody. The lady’s arrest was after her name appeared in the list of celebrities believed to be involved in drug abuse and trafficking.
However, after her release she said nothing through her social media pages until today when she shared a series of tweets through her official Twitter handle. Vanessa Mdee thanked her fans for the support not forgetting the celebrities who were rooting for her release through their social media pages.

Vanessa Mdee surrendered herself to police on 8th March after returning from South Africa where she was part of the cast filming the fifth season of MTV Base series – Shuga.
The Tanzanian singer was locked by the police at the central police station in Dar es Salaam on allegations of drug abuse and trafficking.
Mdee’s prolonged stay in police custody without being taken to trial sparked uproar among section of Tanzanian celebrities who accused authorities of witch hunt.

Popular Tanzanian journalist Millard Ayo last evening announced that Vanessa Mdee had finally been released after spending 5 days in police custody.
Ayo’s announcement was confirmed by Dar Es Salaam police commissioner Simon Sirro who said that Mdee had been released on bond.
Sirro revealed police were still conducting investigation into Mdee’s drug abuse and trafficking claims. He further disclosed that the singer was required to report to police station regularly.
Vanessa Mdee arrested for drug trafficking
Vanessa Mdee was arrested yesterday by the Tanzanian police as she is believed to be involved in drug trafficking. Her arrest come 4 weeks after the likes of Wema Sepetu, TID and Diamond Platnumz small brother spent about a week in police custody.

According to reports Vanessa Mdee was arrested yesterday and has since not been released. She might be going through the same procedure carried after Wema Sepetu was arrested however the police have not released an official statement to confirm whether any drugs were found in her possession during her arrest.
The 29 year old had been in South Africa working when her name was listed among the notorious celebrity drug traffickers in Tanzania. Her lawyer, Aman Tenga has confirmed that she was indeed arrested but she will be released as soon as possible.
Her boyfriend, Juxx Juma has not said anything about this but we believe that he is supporting his petite girlfriend as she goes through this hard time.
