“Get rid of that Val” Kenyans in protest of Diana’s sister as Bahati’s new PA. This is why

All everyone wants is to see their family in a better place and more so, when you make it in life and are channeling in a bit more money.

We don’t need to look far because Bahati’s Kingdom is a very good example of the same. So after cheating allegations between Bahati and his former PA, Emmah, he needed a replacement.

Guess who they settled for? Diana Marua’s sister, Val. So new to her job, Bahati sought to introduce her to her job description as well as fellow artistes in his EMB studios.

Fine, they troop to the place and Weezdom is in vicinity. Addressing Weezdom and Blessing, Bahati states:

Val is officially taking over from Emmah as my PA. Being her first day here, I would like to make a few changes. From today she will be assisting your manager, she will be acting as your immediate PA.

Unfortunately, these were not birds of a feather that the EMB CEO was addressing. Weezdom and Emmah each had personal issues against each other.

Further distancing himself from the allegations shot his way, insisting:

So now it became a war of words between the two, leaving Blessing and Bahati in awe.

It gets tough when you have to draw the line between serious matters and bluffs especially coming from crafty comedians.

And veteran comedian, Eric Omondi has just put us in that spot. The top Kenyan comedian was if anything, the MC during Tanasha and Diamond’s baby reveal party dubbed “707 The Great Gatsby”.

That was proof enough to show the world how close the two celebrities are, regardless. So now, it’s been the high time the baby popped up and all went well.

According to the Classic 105 presenter, she does not understand what business men have in asking women when they will have kids.

It was not so long ago that fans literally asked Zari out of Diamond’s house that was supposed to house her and their two young ones.

Kenyan rapper, Khaligraph Jones has risen to the ranks of fame and might not be leaving any time soon if his music presence is anything to go by.

However there are the pros and cons of everything one eventually embarks on.

The Kayole-bred rapper clarifies, that despite having thrived so much in the lucrative industry of music, it is not the music, rather the hard work that has seen him through.

The thing is to motivate people. In Kenyan hip hop, no one has ever been nominated for things like those and to top it all, win. It was something that was done by people all over Africa. I was the only hip hop artiste from our country. If I say that music has helped me be here, I’ll be lying. I have pushed myself. The well-established Kenyan rapper believes the upcoming talents and any other, need to learn the ropes pretty fast, to avoid falling victims of poor pay by establishments like MCSK.

When East Africa’s Got Talent kicked off, we didn’t think it was anything serious. Okay, we didn’t think it was competitive enough like the rest of the global ‘Got Talent’ shows.

With it’s pluses and minuses, sometimes having to re-think your position in regard to it. But just like every other thing that has a beginning, so does it have an end.

The East African talent show 2019 has finally come to a close of it’s first. Additionally, the scores are out and the winners announced, during its finals in Nairobi, Kenya.

Top rising bongo star, Ten Ballz, who resides in Kenya though Tanzanian-born, has opened up about days he got conned and left to the dark streets.

Kiboma K Chibupa aka Ten Ballz, narrates how he was brought into the country by a conman, who soon after, left him for the wild.

Up and close with ‘Word Is’, the musician shared:

My family couldn’t afford to get me to college because I wanted to be a doctor. I met a Kenyan guy who told me there are opportunities here. I sold my land back home, came to Nairobi only to find out that he was a conman. I didn’t have a place to stay, so I opted for the streets. I have lived near Afya Centre as a street kid for a very long time. Life was really bad, we used to call Nairobi ‘Shamba La mawe’ because it wasn’t easy.

Life lessons

Fortunately, the streets came along with life lessons that he has learnt to observe since then; treat close people like your brothers regardless.

A human will only laugh with you when you have money. If you don’t, then you will have no friends. A brother is the one you have chosen to be a brother.

Sadly recalling:

There is a time I called my brothers and I received no aid, I was helped by complete strangers. I met an American who was my good Samaritan. He took me in and later put me in school at Alliance Française. My dream of becoming a doctor was already shattered. That’s where I started singing again and met Njuguna, who linked me up with the management of Mombasa InterContinental.

Sauti Sol’s vocalist, Savara Mudigi speaks on what might be ailing bongo music; too much gossip and cheap internet that sees them lag behind.

With a comparison between Kenya and Tanzania, the boy band member believes unlike Tanzania, Kenyans have no gossiping culture that goes deep in their bones.

And probably why, Kenyan music is still ahead of the bongo flava.

We have no deep-rooted culture for gossiping here – Kenya. Tanzanian’s cultural behaviors of gossiping and cheap internet play a big role. [Hatuna zile msingi na itikadi za umbeya. Tanzania wana tamaduni za umbeya na hasa kwao internet ni cheap sana] You cannot compare Tanzania with Kenya. There you get a local person with access to affordable internet and many followers on Instagram, you know… Also, Kenya hakuna porojo na kasheshe.

However, back home, speaking in regard to the boy band, Savara stated that Sauti Sol’s focus is on music growth among young talents. Something they are working on.

With a couple of signees in their label, and a label already established, what is left, is to see the talents explore their potential.

Speaking to Mpasho, he shares:

As Sauti Sol we are devoted to nurturing musical talents in the country. Right now we’ve already signed in new artistes and launched our music label. Next is to see our artistes release more hits.

Further adding that, sure, something is cooking – an album – and will probably be ready for release come 2020. However, failing to dig into details on the subject.

Despite the mystery at hand, Savara urges fans to sit tight and wait because something big is about to blow – a blend of local and international voices.

We are working on an album that will be released come next year…it’s too early to name it since they’re not done with recording all songs. One big hit off the album will give us a clue on the title of the album, we are still waiting. Inside expect some international and local collaborations.

“Big loss!” Mixed reactions as no-nonsense Citizen TV political journalist walks out after a whooping 10 years

Outspoken Citizen TV journalist, Hussein Mohamed has called it quits at the Royal Media Services’ owned station after 10 years.

The tough political news anchor made this public announcement on Friday, revealing that he will be taking a break from the art.

Clocking 10 years now, he leaves with delight as he thanks his employer and fans for the successful path he has had in the last decade of his career.

It has been a wonderful 10 years at Citizen TV. I have enjoyed & relished every moment I shared with my colleagues at RMS. I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics and everything in between. See you soon.

However, fans don’t believe that he has literally come to a halt, rather presume the political journalist might be headed to Betty Kyallo’s current home, K24.

He remains acknowledged as one of Kenya’s top political show host who directed hard-hitting questions to his guests – mostly from the political field.

Mercy Masika to gospel artistes – Anyone who is going on the wave of entertainment is going nowhere

Celebrated gospel artist, Mercy Masika is disappointed by the rising statistics of gospel artistes moving to the secular world of music.

According to the Goodwill Ambassador, these artistes eventually don’t get far.

Unfortunately, the gospel music of today is all about entertainment. Something Masika believes has been derailed from the actual meaning of what spreading the gospel through music should be.

17 hours of labor – Tanasha opens up on her birth complications

Well, Tanasha gave birth yesterday, as Diamond clocked the third floor too. That sure is news, though probably stale by now.

All this while we thought we had a baby Simba whose eyes were gradually opening to the world’s realities but he was still tucked deep inside his mother’s womb.

Fine, it’s a harsh reality we have to accept. However, despite being Diamond’s third baby mama, surrounded by life’s milk and butter, her pregnancy wasn’t all rosy.

Through her Insta pages, the world welcomes an hours-old baby boy but Tanasha suffered complications for her to grace her lover with an adorable son.

Opening up about her first time experience, Tanasha pens:

17 hours of labor at 42 weeks, natural birth.. but it was all worth it. God is good. I’m now a mom to a healthy beautiful baby boy who shares a bday with my love. Thank you Lord????

It might have spelt doom to her but she emerged victorious and remains thankful to the Lord Almighty.

Additionally, according to a source, the baby boy developed minor health complications but has since then recovered.

The now mother of 1 apparently gave birth at the Aga Khan hospital, but with tight security to ensure ultimate safety of the little one and her mother.

42 weeks though, means roughly 10 months and 2 weeks..right? I leave it at that.

Anyway, Congratulations to the couple and now small family!
